Wow you game is really well polished !
Really chill vibes and the gameplay is intuivite enough I didn't need to look for instructions.
I had fun to create the best soup haha The pixel art is beautifull you've created the assets ?
Perfect concept with srping jam, nice job !
AMAZING GAME! <3
I don't like downloading games, I prefer testing the browser ones. I tested this one because of the art looking amazing, and I'm so glad I did! You were able to do both cozy and fun and addicting all at once, well done! I love that we can do whatever we want so easily and never struggle with money or anything, and yet the game is still fun without the struggle, it's just more chill and cozy. I also love the huge variety of plants and the way the soups change aspect with each ingredient!
Only thing I'd improve is maybe adding a tutorial at first or just a hover on the buttons with a label, because I accidentally removed my first plants with the X button, not knowing what it did lmaoo
THANK YOU!!!
I knowwww, I should have figured out how to do web builds like a week ago! I will release a web build the moment the jam is over, hopefully not toooo late so people can play soup while the hype is still alive :)
That’s the second request for clarity / a tutorial so I will for sure look into that!
Thank you so much Meg, you bring so much energy to the jam, wouldn’t be half as fun without you.
I absolutely loved this game! The pixel art is incredible, and the gameplay loop is quite well done! I would definitely play a more full-length version of this. I loved seeing the different soup combinations :D
I’m so glad you liked it!!
We are definitely hoping to expand this, so if we do, you’ll be the first to know!
Thank you so much for your feedback
Great farming mechanics; everything was self-explanatory and easy to pick up and start making soups!
what a chill game! very coherent and beautiful art. A lot of replayability and clear mechanics. I enjoyed it a lot right before supper :)
Congratulations.
I was aiming for a good pre-supper game so I’m glad it worked!
Your game is wonderful and your feedback means a lot :)
Where are you??
I'm at soup
What do you mean you’re at Soup??
IM AT. SOUP.
Loved the art style and the gameplay it was so relaxing :)
Coming from you? The person who invented relaxation?? Get outta here ^_^
I like how replayable this game is: organizing crops, no time limit, and very relaxing. I enjoyed it!!
Soup and smoothies go hand-in-hand, basically the same thing if you don’t think too hard about it.
i liked the artstyle, is very cozy~
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it :)
Incredible concept for a cozy game !
The pixel art is lovely and very well executed. The gameplay loop of planting, growing, admiring (very cute arts ^^) your own vegetables, to then make a soup with them is surprisingly engaging.
Controls for the soup are a little bit rough around the edge but, hey, that's a game jam. I actually laughed a bit while struggling to fit a huge pumpkin into my tiny pot, by awkwardly rotating it.
Thank you for your game, amazing job.
The stirring, scooping, displaying of the soup, and the shop were all thrown together in the last few hours of the jam so I wish I had had time to give them the polish they deserved! I really appreciate the feedback
The huge pumpkins that are too large for the pot will stay forever, even if we update this one a dozen times :)
Alrighty. Every Jam has one game that is standing out amoungst all others. Think I found it for this Jam! What a beautiful little gem you have created here. I am impressed in many, many ways - let me try to express myself.
The Presentation: In general I am not a big fan of pixel art. Just because I saw so many badly executed assets in the past. But yours is a testament in how good a game can look like, when it is done just right. Everything looks so coherently cozy, the palette is great and the amount of plants and growing stages is just insane. And on top of all (just in case you ask yourself if someone realized) you created soup compositions not only for the hughe amount of veggies, but even for their combinations! I mean, I see what you did there, really clever. But in 72h? All of this?! Wow, wow, wow....
The Music: Not an expert for this, but it fits in perfectly well and easy to listen to.
The Fun: I will post 2 pics in the game page comments - I had a lot of fun/enjoyment growing my little garden. The cooking process with steering the soup - awwww :-) Also so cute! Well, I can just go on like this...
The Overall: 100/10
I’m at a loss for words!
You are so kind, I am so glad you played our game! The artist on our team is incredibly skilled, I am so lucky to get to work with her.
I’m taking your advice and once the Jam is over I’ll be posting the Web build for the game and future games I make!
Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback. Coming from someone as experienced, and who has worked on as many games as you have, it means a lot. :’)
Can you please choose the operating system the downloadable is supposed to be played with? Otherwise Itch App refuses to install it. Frog, this really looks like a great game - why no browser based version? You miss so many chances others playing your game and giving you feedback.
I knew I was forgetting something! Let me know if it works now :).
I haven’t figures out web-builds for bevy yet, I’ll try to figure it out and get one set up.
It's working now - thanks :-) Late here, will play tomorrow and give you some feedback. Good night!
I saw the beautiful splash art in the discord - was looking forward to playing this! You've done a great job implementing the planting mechanics, and the soup making minigame was really cute. I was taken aback when I took the wooden ladle and stirred the pot and it actually worked - Great work!
Sorry for the delay getting back to you! You’re so rad, thank you for playing our game!
I didn’t have time to give any feedback for stirring the pot, so I’m glad you liked that part especially.
I loved your game so much, I’ve never felt so attached to a spirit who ruins my garden. Maybe I should add angry spirits to Soup!
Great game! Loved both the pixel art and the music they gave the game a real cosy spring feel. A tutorial of some kind would have been nice. Also could have done with some sound effects although I see that is on your to do list. Really cool idea and if you get around to updating it, it could become a really fun soup making game. As someone who also made a cooking game for the jam I love to see how others designed their cooking games.
Now I want a soup. I loved the concept and it fully captures the spirit of the jam
Thank you so much!
I’m so glad you want a soup, that was the desired effect of our game :)
Fantastic game !!! <3 I love soup and I love the art, music, and gameplay. 10/10 soup it up
SOUP IT UP BABY!!!
What a satisfying experience to plant, water, harvest and cook! Wonderful art. Nice music. Very enjoyable gameplay!
Great job!!
Not quite as cool as Norm’s Face! https://rkillen.itch.io/norms-face-20
Anyone reading this check out Norm’s Face, made by this guy! Not for the Cozy Jam but fantastic none the less.
This was a very fun little game! I enjoyed the art, it was very appealing, and the gameplay was very simple to understand! Definitley the most cozy game I've played so far in the jam ^-^
I’m glad you found the gameplay intuitive!
We ran out of time before we could add a lot of feedback for the player, so I think that’s our biggest weakness right now.
Your game on the other hand has great feedback for the player! The sound effects, the particles, I mean just phenomenal.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! 💗❤️
Wow, this might be one of my favorite games of the jam, definitely out of the ones I’ve played so far. I love the style of pixel art and the whole character of Soup!! The gameplay loop is also fairly solid, some more reward/strategy for making Soup!! would be nice, but I understand the time constraint.
P.S. love to see the Bevy appreciation <3
