Loved it. Sounds that warn about incoming threat, music, effects - all was really-really good. To the point I felt sad when the main menu popped back.

Neat mechanic with bating big enemies out so you can pass through. Took me couple of tries to figure out the tactic/mechanics, but it was enjoyable run afterwards.

Hey, I checked your game :)

  • nice and cool opening soundtrack, loved it :)
  • very good field of view setup and movement!
  • that ability shoot effect was top-notch indeed. Interesting shader effects!
  • I liked the movement queuing but this is definitely more useful if you increase the movement speed; it was a bit slow.

Overall, very unique but solid entry :)

Holy cow! I love the synthwave vibes from this game and I want to play it on an Intellovision Vectron!

Great work with the presentation and audio to create an atmosphere, I loved it.

A very unique crawler.

My only real complaint is that the movement feels awkward with the movement enqueueing while having very slow movement. I am used to classic crawlers that let you quickly move about. That said, you get used to it very quickly.

My second, not so real complaint is… how do I get more of this game? Do you plan to continue development? I loved it!

Developer

thanks so much!

Do you think chromatic abberation would be a good effect if I went further with this?

I think I would add as an option  along with a settings menu for controls

Mission complete.

The presentation is good, the animations especially are very nice.

The system works, is original and fits the theme.

Movement is a bit slow and the third level already almost felt a bit redudant but the slow movement does enhance the atmosphere and the game does not overstay its welcome so it was fine (I feared the third level would be huge and was glad it was actually not bigger than the second one).

Cool game.

Yes, the third level exists mainly to culminate the two enemies now that you have been introduced to both. My plans for it if it grew would be to add puzzle elements or keys in order to progress further amidst these things.

I also wanted to add beacons you could place to remember where you last were. Like a rope in a cave. Also, roaming enemies.

I'm not sure how to get the mac build to launch.

Developer

Its not working? Thats strange. I was unable to test it on mac, but it was a win/linux/mac build. Somthing must be wrong, however. I'm sincerely sorry. I'm not sure I can address the issue now that the submission window is closed. You are unable to launch from the exe?

Submitted

NP. I'll find a windows machine.

Developer

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have marked my game as windows only in the event that the same issue arises on linux.

I got a chance to play in windows. Great game. I liked the smooth movement, the limited visibility distance, and the command queuing. Took me a couple of tries to get through, but it wasn't overly punishing. It felt fair. Perfect difficulty and duration for a jam game. Well done. Graphics and audio were perfect. I'm a sucker for the 80's/90's vector cyberspace aesthetic. High marks!

I'm glad! I hope to try yours when I'm able tomorrow

This one is one of the game in the game jam i enjoyed quite a lot actually. Visuals and audio is really good.  Haven't seen the end but it feels complete. Theme is understandable.  Overall, very good.

By the way I'm curious to know the method you used to make that shoot effect. Was it a sprite with emissive shader?

Developer

yup, they're an emissive shader. I credit the tutorial I followed on my web page if you'd like to see more

The walls are also emissive shaders that react to the proximity of the player or pink lines. There is no fog.

I dont like my use of shaders for the walls because I don't think it scales well, though. But I wanted to explore rhe effect

Visuals and sound are excellent, a treat for the eyes and ears :)

Simple but polished. Well done!

I liked the tron aesthetic and the sound effects were good. I didn't know if it was a bug but I wasn't able to kill some of the enemies but overall i enjoyed the presentation.

Developer

larger enemies cannot be killed and must be avoided.

Do not force me to use Task Manager to quit your game. Make ESC quit.

I'm a sucker for burning ice. The Tron aesthetic is good.

Movement is a tad slow, but not too bad.

Shooting is a cool effect.

Please enjoy my second submission on itch.io
