Interesting gameplay and lore,
Controlling beasts and leveling up from our victims was a lot of fun!
I also laughed at the game over screen with the beast master getting depressed from the death of his creatures
May we have more this!

The text was a bit hard to read. You might want to pick a slightly clearer font.
The pixelated rendering style was interesting. We're guessing it was actually fully 3D and this was a post-processing effect? Our preference would be to not render it pixelated. Although classic dungeon crawlers had limited palettes, due to the hardware, modern ones like Grimrock and Vaporum are much easier on the eye and make use of modern graphics capabilities and we feel they're better for it. This is of course very subjective and just our opinion.
Very interesting idea, although a bit gruesome, to find sacrifices to boost your character stats.
It was nice to change music between environments. It may have been a bit too upbeat for the task at hand though.
It would have been nice to see how long was left on an attack cooldown.
We found ourselves getting lost in the woods very easily. Perhaps that was the idea! A map would be really useful.
We found a graveyard with lots of swords that we couldn't pick up. Were we missing a key to press?
Slow health regeneration was nice to have.
We really enjoyed the game and we think is has potential going forward.
Well done on your amazing first game jam entry. You're sure to have success after you graduate. Best of luck in the games industry.
Doing really good for your first jam! The art style is really great. The game could be great in the future if you improve the QOLs.
Those pesky enemies just running left and right avoiding all the hits :( I don't know if I just was unlucky or almost all of them seemed to try and run left right for a while before stopping somewhere at my side. Since you can't hit them while they move like that - that was quite annoying especially on the assasin bug :<
Liked the overal look of the game, though UI could indeed use some work, i think fonts mostly. Hard to read, though manageable.
Enjoyed level design with all the hints where you are at and how to get back too!
Nice game, I really liked it, the game play was good and the graphics... Loved it. Congrats !
I loved the graphics style. It looked really good, super old-school but also very modern with the high Fps and high fidelity animations. The text was microscopic in my computer, completely impossible to read. I found the heart icon action to be largely useless, it heals 1 hp? Eating corpses was a fun mechanic. I think the main thing that would improve this title is feedback. When I shoot an arrow it's very unclear if I've hit or not, having the enemy flash red or move back quickly, something like that would be the way to go.
Great work!
Hey, great game :)
Overall, a very atmospheric game that needs some subtle fixes to become a top-notch indie game :) You should keep at it!
It was a fun game, i completed it fully, but i needed to restart it when my main character died and all my upgrades with him :( Font was barely readable, but story was not really needed to experience it. Also there is literally no use for a bug character because he can't heal himself and in game where there is no other way of healing it is weird to even have that option (unless i did not understand something important and i am sorry if that is the case). Fun little experience which completely destroyed my left middle finger because i needed to push 'W' button so much (if you will continue working on it please make it so you can push button and you will continuously walk).
Level 2 guards were unnecessary strong and i could not defeat them, but i managed to find a bug in their pathfinding and defeated king by running through him at full speed and punching (: Btw i could not exit the throne room and needed to restart so glad that it saved king in my inventory (: Also why show all those cool stats on sacrificing the king if game will end anyway?? T-T really wanted to take my anger out on that one guard that somehow ended up in woods and killed me first time. Overall fun experience and with a little bit more polish could be a really fun game
There is a way to heal. Unfortunately, it was in the small unreadable text, haha. The corpses serve a dual purpose of either consuming them and restoring health or taking them back to level the character. However, the eating mechanic only works properly in the forest area. Everywhere else it doesn't delete the corpse from your inventory, so you are able to heal to full without losing it.. but yeah, it definitely needs a bit of polishing, I over scoped for my abilities and didn't have time to fine tune some things. But thank you for playing!
Oooooh, i get it now, while playing i actually thought about that same exact mechanic and how would be a cool one to implement, but probably it will stand in the way of leveling up, knowing that there is limited amount of enemies, so glad to know that there is one (: In that case would be nice if there was like a spawner of sorts in the woods or village so you could grind a little bit to level up
pretty creepy visuals, fun game and great concept which is executed extremely well! a few suggestions i have are:
I killed the king.
I enjoyed sacrifying all those losers and that you put that much content in the game, with occasionnal harder fights (dealing early with the knight in the forest might get you defeated, that's cool), the controls are good and I like the choice of stat when sacrifying a loser. Continuing with the other character when one is dead is cool too.
At least movement is fast so it's manageable but I really don't like the tiny steps, 10x14 is what I rather see as close to a complete exploration map rather than just a starting room. I think it also leads to combat which is more confusing than it should be.
The game is fun, anyway.
Great game. It's hard for me to read texts, music has some issues. But it's a jam, it's hard to catch up and really polish a project. But I like idea and overall feel.
Don't worry to much. I'm pointed it just what I noticed. You have temple music loop playing and sometimes loop breaks. It could be for the number of technical reasons. For example, loop file is mp3. Unity has special DSP clock for music, if it isn't chosen can be problems too, I made a test video about it
But I need to say that it doesn't ruins game experience and that is the main thing. You have a great game, Don't worry.
