Nice re-imagining of Snake. It was interesting finding different rhythms of movement to get my blob to move. I think with a little tweaking and polish (and fixing the bug that causes some of the blob to get left behind) you have a good game on you hands. Good job!

Was a good base, but it wasn't apparent how i was supposed to move.  At times i had parts of my blob that stuck around, others i just stopped moving all together after a couple of pellets.  Felt more frustrating than fun.

Developer

I am sorry for that. The error were the blob stops was observed by me during development but I was unable to fix it. I feel like it is caused by some bug with unity's Rigidbody2D. The workaround I found when play testing was to go around the blob, sort of like a spiral and push the blob from behind. Thanks for pointing out that this was occurred more often than I thought it did. As with the part where it feels frustrating, I hope that I will be able to make it more strategic after the jam ends. Thanks again!

Feels like i'm some sort of caterpiller trying to become a butterfly cool concept but the player could get faster after eating each pallet. thus making it easier to move around but adds challenging control to get them either way fun game but the player is a bit slow in my opinion.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I had actually tried out your idea during development but it kinda removed the feeling of the player being a slimy, mutating blob so I scrapped the idea. I will however try to make the player a bit faster. Thanks again :)

Game make me obviously think of Snake. With some more polish, perhaps some obstacle, powerups  it could make a good mini game.

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback :D

I like the "chomp" sound effect! Ha! I definitely think the game needs a bit more artwork, and perhaps some background music. Nice game.

Thanks for the feedback! We actually recorded the chomp sound ourselves, haha. Actually, there is some background music, I don't know if you noticed. It plays as soon as you run the game. Maybe if you try reloading, it might play. And yes, we will work on the artwork once the jam ends. Again, thanks for the feedback!

Its a small cool Prototype! The Gameplay gets a bit boring after a while. So Power Ups or more Hazards could make the Game a lot more fun. For 48 hours still a solid job!

Developer

Thanks :D

Interesting blob mechanics. Is it random? Also, is there a way to beat the friction?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yes the blob mechanics are random, I used individual circles to create the effect. The circles have to constantly be at a certain random distance from a singular point which is controlled by you, the player.

And yes there is a way to beat the friction. Hint: You have to keep moving :D

I figured it was something like that. Cool.
