1000 pigeons

Correlation to theme
I tried to evoke a more frantic energy to the song while keeping it a little bit quirky, to fit with the vibe of fighting a swarm of pigeons.

Harmonically, it's superb. There are parts, notably the chords from 0'55" onwards, that are surprising and work really well. It sounds like a Japanese video game composition. I think I'm going to study your harmonic progressions in more detail because I really like them.

There's a lot of variation and well-controlled dissonance. It's a pity that the quality of the sounds doesn't pay tribute to the quality of the arrangement.

You did a very cool thing too on the closing chord at 0'30", you add a little diminished sound to restart the loop, it's the kind of little compositional detail that makes the music immediately more interesting and it sounds professional.

Bravo for your music

Thanks very much for your feedback!

Indeed I get a lot of inspiration from japanese games (lately a lot from Final Fantasy XI ost), specially when it comes to chords! But my approach to chords in this piece can be boiled down to borrowing from modes close to the key like phrygian with the iib chord and my favorite viib chord. I can talk a lot more about chords and harmonic progressions so feel free to reach me out!

Now quality I gotta stop being lazy and focus more into it, because I try to make my own instruments with synths available in the tool that I use and get lost trying to make them sound good. Also I don't know how to do mix and mastering so I think it's time for me to study!

A great dynamic piece with different well composed melodies. Feels like a battle with pigeon flock since it packs a lot of drive too. Really enjoyed it!

Love all the transitions in this song! The whole track is propulsive!

Nice melody arrangement!

I love how you resolved the end of both iterations of the first section (around the 16th and 32nd bar, I believe). The second section (around 0:50) has a lovely melody as well!

I also like how you saved the intervals (excuse my lack of knowledge if I mistook the term) for the last part, emphasizing its importance.

Overall, I appreciate the effort of making pigeon music with few references to pigeons -- or at least, in a not-so-obvious manner. I'm looking at you, Peckathons' Symphony -- but still manages to reflect the nature of pigeons very well. Great job!

Thanks for the feedback, I understood what you've said so no worries!

I wouldn't say it was much effort and more like 'not having interesting ideas with sound effects', mainly because I'm not used to when making songs. I definitely should try sometime tho since it can add a lot to a song as well.

Interesting the style with the accordion and I think I hear a cooing in the background on this part that gives a tension.

And then comes such an energetic and positive section.

Well done!

Thanks!

The key change at 25 seconds and wherever that phrase repeats is SO GOOD! I really really liked this song! I was feeling the beat and even finger percussioning to hit the off beats when they came up which I think is the mark of an Amazing song. Getting me to physically interact with your music shows how catchy and memorable it is. Great job!

Glad to hear you liked it, thank you very much!

This song was my favorite of the whole jam. so much so that I actually downloaded it and put it on my phone to listen to normally so bravo on such a catchy piece of music!

Hey, good to see you again! I still love listening to some of your old songs like 'Clorocea Town' or your 'Green Tail Rival Theme'.

Oh, this is nice! I love the beat, that focus on all the final off-beats every measure is really nice. I could see this song be a Pokemon Diamond Gym Leader battle theme or something. That change as 0:53 is also very nice! Although, I would have already put it at 0:31, after the first section has played once; or I would have made this part at 0:31-0:53 be slightly different from the first part at 0:00-0:31. As usual though, your song sounds really great! You clearly know what you're doing. Did you try and incorporate any bird-like elements? I feel like this would be a great general boss fight for any enemy :)

Good to see you too!

About the part at 0:31, I actually had the first section play only once but then I wanted to add some sort of variation, like a different drum line or a new instrument. I couldn't come up with any ideas in the time I had and decided to leave it there, but I agree with you.

The only bird-like element I tried to add were the pigeon's coo sound, but wasn't able to make it sound more proeminent, so the song ended up being more on the generic side.

Thanks very much for the feedback!

that section at 0:53 is soooo cool, love it!
