How does your game fit the theme?
It's a cloud person, jumping in clouds, avoiding clouds. :D

That was fun! I liked the main mechanic of your jump consuming water that you need to replenish before. I hope you get the chance to flesh it out further, I would love to see where you could take it.

I'm really glad I got to play this game, I actually watched a few of your youtube devlogs at one point! I think it has promise and it is a shame that real life got in the way for you. I know how that goes myself :) Do you think you will continue development or move on to another project?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! There must be a very similar game out there because you’re the 2nd one that said they watched me doing DevLogs but I didn’t. I think I have a game dev twin out there.

I’d like to finish this. It needs more levels, mechanics, and sounds, but I’m not sure time wise how far I’ll go with it.

Submitted

Must just have been someone with a similar project so!

I see you was not able to finish it properly, but anyway it felt fun enough. Had no problems with a "boss" cloud, yeah I made it not on the first try but well, it's a boss. Controls are good. I think I saw your live stream where you was trying to make the camera look down when standing near the edge, but I guess it didn't got to the released version?

Developer

Thanks!

Must have been a different cloud platformer since I didn’t livestream any of the development.

Ah god damn really, I'm sorry, that was a bit embarrassing. It was a different game, even with no art assets at all, but somehow I was 100% sure I saw all those assets there.

Developer

No worries. And these assets were all badly drawn by me. Made it my goal to not use art assets this jam

Nice work! I have a fair bit of experience with platformers and was able to make it through this one without too much trouble (did die twice though). The graphics are charming and on-theme. I enjoyed it.

If you want critique on the level design: in terms of gameplay pace, this feels like more of a Mario than a Super Meat Boy, so my gamer brain expects every hazard to be telegraphed early enough for me to feasibly react to it the first time. That is to say, this feels like a game I should be able to win without knowing the map, if I'm a sufficiently good player. There were a few spots here (the cloud in level 2 shooting out of the narrow passageway got me the first time) where I think a hazard appears too fast to react unless you already know it's coming.

Thanks! I don’t have experience making something like this so the help is appreciated

Platformers are not exactly my genre (couldn’t make it past that storm cloud) but it’s cute.

I think I stumbled upon a bug when landing with a full water bar and going poof, but the last checkpoint was close enough that it didn’t matter.

Nice work!

Definitely a super dope game! Though I agree that level design is a little evil, although I did beat it.

That’s a nice little jump’n’run game 😊 Your level design was a bit evil though, and I had to give up on beating the boss 😅

Developer

Thanks! I’m bad a balancing that sort of thing. It’s easy to misjudge how hard it is after you play it like 30 times.

I totally know the feeling, I have no idea how often I now have played through my own submission, and creating a good difficulty curve is hard… lot’s of feedback from playtesters, and still not sure 😂
