Man this is cool! Considering how amazingly well done every other part of this entry is, I think the gameplay could be a little tighter.
Feels like the bombs should probably block you and enemies walking past, and they should get placed on the grid so you know exactly where they're going to go and how far the blast will reach. Falling of platforms and ladders also somehow feels wrong, like you're able to slide around horizontally in a way that you wouldn't have in something like donkey kong.
Honestly this is a few tweaks away from being perfect, Great work!
This is so awesome in so many ways! I couldn't wait for my Windows tablet to recharge - I had to tried it with wine and runs fine!
Baby.
LOL
Let me know how you get on.
Also If I can be of any help with anything else, just ask...
Baby.
Wow. It reminds me of Bubble-Bobble, with Bombs! Good work, it catches that retro feel very well.
Thanks for all the great comments :)
Freaking good!!!
great game
This game is amazing. Keep up the good work!
The memories from my Colecovision came flooding back to me, and that devil is horrifying...in a good way. Bomb blasting enemies was tricky, but it's just a timing thing to get used to.
Any chance you could extend the range where the player can leave a ladder to step onto the platform by a pixel or two?
Well polished and well done!
Such a solid entry, so impressed! It really looks the part, and absolutely nailed the audio (seriously I am pretty jealous of that music). It all works really well together.
thanks for that. The chip-synth is still a work in progress as is the sequencer. the next step is to activate the external sample parts...
Oh man this brings the memories!!! Very well done!
Well. I tried to make something that triggered peoples memory.
It s very difficult to take so much elements from old classical games without them sounding derivative or misplaced. Great job!
Thanks, what a great way of putting it. Much appreciated
This has got to be a winner.
The game was exciting from the moment I booted it up!
I was so happy when I placed first. Just the amount of work that went into this must have been staggering. For such a small file size it packs a punch with the graphical wow factor it has!
The faux 3D effect was a really nice challenge that threw me off!
The entire experience was absolutely lovely! Not to mention.. That ladder sound is one of the most pleasing sounds i've ever heard in a video game!
10/10 This would be a coin stealer if it was an arcade game (also cause i'd stink at it)
Thanks - I tried to give it that old arcade feel. I'm especially pleased you enjoyed the sounds :)
Gonna try this out during the weekend.
Nice game, really!! Good Job.
Brilliant video. I had a blast watching you both play and have fun. I really liked that there were two of you and you both enjoyed the experience with each other. I'll take on-board the "quit" while playing and also jumping... Maybe a syntax bomb 2?
It really is a very fun game, good job!
thanks - let me know if there is anything you think might improve things :)
I've just tried it a few minutes and it is really cool.
