I liked some of it though I dont have the patience for the repetitive bits.
Nearly gave up on 1st red (struggled to jump without hitting red) and did on second red.
I had to reset on going up the red barrier as I died too high and couldnt get to it subsequently and by the time I got that done and then would have to keep dieing on the final way to the door was too much.
May be an 'Undo' if you feel you've mucked up rather than a full reset?
And may be only a 3 or four deaths needed for a level to get completed?
I also prefer a separate jump button option than just using the keys (and I wonder what or where S does something!)
As mentioned by others it does need some noise.
Good effort as it does have potential

I am not gonna lie I am pretty trash at platformers so it was a lil difficult third level onwards.

Developer

Yeah I don't really think I made the difficulty curve scale properly since I was too concerned over trying to introduce some new ways to look at mechanics for each level to keep the player interested and make the game feel repetitive. I probably failed at that though. I would fix some stuff but I'm not sure if that's allowed for the jam or not

This is a cool game! M only big complaints are that there's no sound and that at certain points with the corpse platform mechanic, it was pretty easy to lock yourself out of actually being able to win, which would mean you'd have to reset the whole level, which was pretty frustrating as it represented a lot of time lost and meant you had to do the same setup all over again. I think the level design probably should have been set up so that it was harder to get into a situation where you have to reset, as that gets frustrating. Still though, this is a really cool game with some really cool mechanics.

I would have really enjoyed some audio. And it was so frustrating to fall off of the ledges. But it was very fun and kept me playing. Good job!

the idea is good but

the character controller has no coyote time/variable jump height

and the fact that there's no sound

Developer

When I first made the game I was still kind of amateur and didn't consider variable jumpheight. and unfortunately at this stage most of the levels have been explicitly designed around not having a variable jump height so this is probably going to stick.

I'm also clueless at sound design and I have no idea how to add music to this game without ruining the eerie mood

This was really cool. I wanted to check out this game originally because it seemed like one of its mechanics is similar to my game's central mechanic (the "sequences" thing), and it was really interesting to see your take on it! There's a lot of innovative stuff going on here and it was a blast to play through it.

Thanks for your feedback! I added some clearer indicators for when the blocks "ghost" and get converted into sequences following the feedback on level 15.
