Amy's World is more or less the synthesis of a never-ending adventure game project, and two earlier shorter jams. They are all on my itch.io page ;) Four weeks spent specifically on this one.

This game definitely has a lot of potential and I would really like to see more development from it. I love card games and the concept of this was interesting. The art style was great too. I loved the story aspects along with figuring out the path.

Feedback:
Movement did feel slow at times and wished the pace could have been faster.

Overall, good work so far, and looking forward to more.

Thanks for the encouraging feedback! Navigation is the one consistent annoyance people are reporting, so that will be ironed out shortly :)

I got a game over, unsure what I did wrong :D The movement annoyed me as it was fiddly to pick a path - as others have said click to move would be nicer as the real time movement doesn't really add anything currently.

Liked the idea of the deck building and can see some strategy in it.

Art style was nice - over world could do with a little more detail IMHO but it was pleasant.

Nice job overall <3

Thanks for trying it out! Right now, there is a game over at the end, when you actually have won the level. Otherwise, your health has probably gone to 0? Though that isn't even easy in the tutorial map. But that part of the mechanic isn't very obvious and one of the top things I want to work on. The other one is bringing the mouse navigation back :)

The current overworld map is really just a quick sketch to show the concept. There's a whole lot of worldbuilding coming up!

Look forward to it!

Great idea for a game, I can see potential in it. The characters are also quite charming and cute. Love the combination of dice and cards it seems like it will allow for interesting interactions. Don't have much else to add since this was just the taste of what the game will be like, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops in the future! Well done! :)

Hey, thanks! I'm already hard at work fleshing out the concept :)

Working on a card game myself, I can tell the many things you prolly have to manage under the hood. I like how the hands themselves are a mechanic, as well as how the world seems like it will be deeply integrated into what is going on in each scenario in the later releases. Looks like a great base to work off of, good job!

Developer(+1)

Yes, so many systems to implement :) As you say, there is a working base now, and I can keep on adding and refining things from here. Glad my world-building intentions come across. Thanks for the feedback!

Really neat concept! The way the dice rolls were tied to interactions with the puzzle made for some interesting strategic play and nailbiter rng. The steampunk animal setting stood out for me, I'd love to see more of the world and characters.

I agree with the other comment that there should be movement with mouse/touch controls. It felt cumbersome to keep switching between mouse and keyboard.

Developer

Thank you, that is encouraging! I'm planning to keep working on this, and do regular updates when the voting is over. Also thx for feedback about navigation, I'm almost convinced now :)

I like the idea of a mechanic-based card game. I think some music and sfx could do the game well. The art style is really cute. I did have some difficulty moving around the map with my keyboard, so maybe you could implement a mouse-based movement instead (would possibly be easier for touch input as well if you plan on mobile support). Clicking on a map node seems more intuitive to me. I couldn’t figure out the pipe puzzles…I kept restarting it as they seemed impossible to solve.

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing! Interesting, I did have the „click on node“ navigation in an earlier version, but it felt more boring than actually walking around. Switching paths at intersections is tricky now, agreed. And thinking about mobile… I‘ll reconsider.

The puzzles should always be solvable, what you see is a randomization created from a solution configuration. Admittedly, I have thought more than once that there is a bug, but eventually they all worked out :) Maybe I could add a hint system.
