This looks really cool, but it needs instructions. I couldn't figure out what any of the buttons do except the one that places turrets. After placing a bunch of turrets they were killing all the enemies before they even appeared onscreen until the very end when I got swarmed by a bunch of grey cubes that seemed to ignore the turrets shooting.

Really well made game, the constant weapon switching and dodging the missile silos made it very fun to play. The upgrades were also cool and got me replaying a few times, never got stale. My best run was room 17, 572250pts. At that point the game spawned me in the middle of a giant mosh pit of tanks and i died like a second after loading in lol. Fun times!
encountered one bug where a large red tank spawned outside of the level, but the level still cleared without me needing to destroy it.
wow, this was really well done! I've never played King's Field but it reminded me of older Elder Scrolls games, felt right at home playing it. The map layouts were interesting and rewarding to explore, I liked that there were a lot of hidden items to find. The room with the boss was very intimidating when entering, haha. Good stuff
Only thing was the enemies, it felt like there were tons and they all had a lot of hp so most of the time I just ran past them.
The screen monitor effects are really cool! I liked the variety of weapons, powers and levels- it got me playing through the game more than once to experiment. Lots of fun!
found a neat trick with the flamethrower, you can switch weapons while firing and the stream will stay active, you can combine it with the gun laser to melt the boss in seconds. The shield is also really strong, it ignores all the boss attacks and you can kill him before it expires.
Solid game, it looks and plays great! I love the little noises that the enemies make. One issue I had was that the grass tiles look very similar to the spikes that kill you, which caused some confusion. Besides that the level design was fun and intuitive, I appreciate the mini map it also helped.
Do you plan to continue the game? I'd love to see more
Really neat concept! The way the dice rolls were tied to interactions with the puzzle made for some interesting strategic play and nailbiter rng. The steampunk animal setting stood out for me, I'd love to see more of the world and characters.
I agree with the other comment that there should be movement with mouse/touch controls. It felt cumbersome to keep switching between mouse and keyboard.
Awesome job, the visuals are great and the music is a jam! The difficulty is brutal towards the end, I died so many times at the magician which was pretty frustrating, haha. The way you did the prose of the narration at the beginning and when you clear the game really stood out to me, it sold the feeling of being in a mystical fantasy setting.
Its great that you're planning on expanding the game, I'd love to see more!
Thanks to your tip I was able to finish the game! What a plot twist at the end with the gun haha
it was a fun little story, I liked the variety of characters, and figuring out the puzzles. Brydon sure kicks ass!
only thing I didn't really like was the battles, I had to grind a lot of money to get a bunch of healing items for it to be winnable, and using a single coffee doesn't give you enough energy to use another ability.
nice work!
cool game, I enjoyed playing it! Smooth controls and the level layouts were fun.
my one critique would be to add an FX or indication when pulling off the mono dash correctly, I wasn't always sure if I was doing it right and that last jump in the tutorial was the hardest part of the game for me.
congrats on publishing your first game!
Hi, I enjoyed playing the game!
I was expecting it to be scary but despite the dark/adult themes the game was surprisingly funny and colorful, and I got pretty invested in the story haha.
I'd like to finish it but I couldn't figure out what to do after talking to the people in the Tavern. Do you have a walkthrough or hints for that part?
Hey, thanks a ton for your feedback, I really appreciate it!
yeah, admittedly the lives system was a bit of an afterthought, I forgot about it in my rush to finish on time. You are right that it sets the score back to 10% but really it should just be a single run game without lives at all. I do plan to continue updating the game in the future.
If you were having troubles with the cat being too slow, you can hold Lshift or K to run faster and get further jumps. And yes, jumps with a block directly above are certainly the hardest, you need to run and abuse coyote time a bit but it is doable with some finesse.
2 minutes is good, especially if you weren't using the run mechanic, as that's when it starts to get extra fast. My personal best is 4:02, if anyone wants to try to beat it, the speed gets really crazy!
thanks again for playing!
