I really love the look of the game! Very nice fish animations, and the sand and water reflection things are beautiful. It would be nice if holding the mouse button or spacebar would make it automatically shoot/punch so I didn't have to keep clicking a lot. Really cool game and great work! :D
I great game! Though I wish it was faster-paced, harder, and the player not being so much of a cushion of damage (you have a lot of HP that you can basically tank throughout the whole game)
Lovely game, Gave me very much Cult Of The Lamb vibes! I wish that the combat felt "faster" (like shooting) but asides from that it was a pretty good game!
Thanks you for playing :) We actually were inspired by cult of the lamb
And yeah I agree, the combat needs a bit of an overhaul
The map system is very cool and well made. The art is also beautiful. The only nitpick I would have is that the shooting animation could be a little bit faster.
Thanks for playing :D
If we decide to do an post-jam update, we’ll keep your feedback in mind
Great game! Very well done! The idea is amazing and I loved the squid visual! Only wish that the game was bit more difficulty!
Hey there, thank you very much for your feedback! We thought it would be best to make the game rather easy to beat, so everyone at every skill level can beat it without getting stuck.
The game is cute, but it could take more damage in battles. good job! :)
Thanks for playing :D
The texture of the sand and the colors are beautiful, the boxing animation and the idle pose, nice touch! great job!
Thank you :)
The overall atmosphere and animations are amazing! My only suggestion is to make jellyfish a little more active because you end up killing everything else first, maybe make them slowly drift towards you. Also when a returned to a room after killing all the enemies before the kelp gates were still up even though there were no enemies.
Hey thanks for playing :D I’m sorry that the kelp gates were still up and I hope that didn’t affect your game experience. The jellyfish are defenetly an enemy type we need to overhaul, so if we make a post-jam version we’ll keep your feedback in mind.
Amazing looking game! Reminds me of cult of the lamb! Would love it if animations didn’t lock you into place so much but otherwise great experience!
Thanks for playing! Cult of the Lamb was actually one of our inspirations when we were developing the game. As for the animation lock, we’ll definitely keep your feedback in mind if we make a post-jam version :)
The art is beautiful I especially like the combined 2D and 3D. I had fun playing through all of the rooms and the ending cutscene was very cute. The jellyfish could probably move around a little so that you have to aim at them but overall a nice game!
Thanks for playing!
If we decide to do a post jam version, we’ll take your idea for the jellyfish into consideration :)
good game only criticism is that the squid doesn't say "AGHHHHH !!!!! THAT HURT!!!!! OUCHIE!!!! SOMEONE HELP ME!!!! AGHHHH !!! HELP!!!! IT BURNS!!! AHHH!!" every time you get hit
Hi there, thanks for playing the game! Yeah, that would've been fun. And the enemies would go like "UUHHH !!! IIINKYY !!!! IEWWW !!!". And the jellyfish be like "BZZZZZZZ !!!!"
Thanks for the review :D In ofc all honesty: I’ll tell you a secret. If you complete the game 10,000 Times you will unlock the secret mode, where every object in the game (including the plants, ground and every obstacle) scream on top of their lungs when they’re hurt. And ofc recorded by yours truly
The visuals are super unique, it kind of reminds me of Cult of the Lamb. Seeing a dungeon crawler in such a short period is really impressive! The enemies take maybe a bit too long to kill, and I'm guessing if you had more time you would have added a little more variety to the rooms. Other than that very solid entry, good job guys
Hi, thanks for the feedback! Cult of the Lamb actually inspired quite some parts of the game. We sadly just got to adjusting the parameters for the player and enemies in the last couple of minutes, so we couldn't really balance them very well. In terms of lack in variety of rooms, you're right, that also was due to lack of time. We were thinking about maybe making a post game jam update to address most of those issues. Thanks again for your feedback, really appreciate it.
Good game! To give some criticism, it felt like enemies took too many hits to kill, and it would have been more dynamic for them to die sooner but deal more damage or attack faster. I also didn't find the melee attack that effective, although that might just be my preference.
Great entry overall, your team did a fantastic work :)
Thanks for the feedback! If we decied to do a post jam version of our game, we’ll adjuste the enemies based on your feedback :)
Amazing work!! Very clever enemies, a fun dungeon crawler all in all
Thank you :D
very unique, kinda boring at the later levels, but very fun overall
Thanks for playing our game :) We wanted to add a bit of variation to the dungeon generation by adding more rooms and maybe interactive obstacles, but sadly we didn’t have the time for that
We had such similar ideas! The blend of 2D and 3D works really well, and the caustics on the sand is a great touch. I think the attack animations could be sped up a little so it’s easier to move around. The transitions add a lot of little polish. The swordfish enemy is my favorite.
Hey, thanks for playing! I’m very happy that someone noticed the caustics :D The 2.5D was actually a random idea one of our artist had, so cool that other people like it too.
If we decied to do a post jam version, we’ll adjuste the attack animation
I LOVE the aesthetics, that art is terrific, however i had the music and sound design set to max and still could barely hear it, so that was pretty sad.
the combat was fine, the enemies were really easy to cheese as i could just walk away, shoot, repeat, and they would never get a chance to fight back.
Also what's up with the orange fish at the end lol.
Thanks for the feedback :D The music was only implemented in the final moments of the jam, so we couldn’t test it extensively and I’m sorry if that affected your game experience. The combat is one thing we’ll defenetly need to change, if we decied to make a post jam version.
It repeats itself a lot.
Thanks for your feedback! We wanted to add a bit of variation to the dungeon generation by adding more rooms and maybe interactive obstacles, but sadly we didn’t have the time for that. If we decied to do a post jam version, we’ll make the rooms more dynamic
