For this piece, I tried capturing the feelings of trying to reach the journey it takes to reach the peak of a large mountain (like the one in the image).
It starts off with a darker sound to represent the daunting task of scaling such a large landmass. As the track progresses it gets a little more hopeful in tone, eventually climaxing with a brighter key, slightly more upbeat and some different instruments. This is meant to represent the listener finally reaching the top of the mountain and reflecting back on everything they had to do to be where they are now.
For the music itself, I set out to make something that challenges me in different ways. The first thing being the composition revolves almost entirely around the piano, which was quite the challenge as I'm primarily a guitar player. The second thing is I'm working a lot on my melody writing and trying to fill any empty spaces in the mix, so any feedback that focuses on those elements is especially appreciated :)

Very well done, I love this track !
Emotional vibes, a solid choice of harmonies, and the arrangement is very nice too ! The break at 3:00 and what followed made me somewhat think to Pink Floyd a little, it's very nice ! This music really tells a story, good work
If I could give a little feedback on the piano and the melodic aspect, it would be this : first of all, for a non piano player, you did a wonderfull job !
Left hands chords are well chosen, if you wanted you could arpegiate them more, to make to piano more present, but that's more an artistic choice
As for the melody, my feeling is that it somewhat lacks a bit of a direction, and is a bit to "locked up" in a tiny space. Don't hesitate to stretch its tessitura, and make use of greater intervals. One thing that's really cool is the use of a leitmotiv (G, Bb, A, G), nice work on that part !
Nice submission, congrats !
Thank you for such awesome feedback!
I was pretty excited to get the takes that I did not having much experience with the instrument, it took an embarrassingly high number of attempts just to get these parts down lol. I'm hoping as time goes on, and with a LOT more practice, the melody parts I write can develop a little more and gain that direction. Or at the very least go beyond the small phrases that fit the structure of the piece.
Thanks a ton for listening :)
I love and definitely hear the work you put into developing a narrative. There's either a reverb or pad throughout that sounds a pretty convolved when it comes in with the guitar strums. I actually find it very ambiguous and haunting cause it contrasts the piano part in a very neat and subtle way. If that wasn't really the goal though then I think that notching out some low-mids and reducing the decay a bit might add a lot of space for individual notes to ring out distinctly. Very pretty chords, melodies and musical changes make this a very easily enjoyable song!
Thanks a ton for the feedback!
As much as I liked how much contrast this piece had, I'd probably agree that some low-mids could be reduced a bit in the pads.
Thank you much for listening :)
The key change is really pretty here and it evokes reflection and even exhilaration really well. Really pretty submission and it was really nice to listen to.
Thank you!! And thanks for listening :)
I love the sense of triumph with the key change at the end! Although i think a bit more rule breaking could be done. That being said, well done challenging yourself with the piano!
Appreciate the feedback - thanks a ton for listening :)
An evocative track, it surely tells the story that you described. The central part is especially very emotional to me, that's the moment in which the brighter feelings of the journey kick in. I think you did a good work with the piano and having the guitar be only a support. It was a good choice and well executed.
One note on the mix, there were certain times when all instruments played at the same time and it sounded a bit weird, I think at 0.35 it even clipped. But in general the mix is also good. Good job!
Ughhh :/
I thought I was pretty thorough at adjusting levels in the mix to avoid these kind of issues, but apparently not. I'll look through again in the future and hopefully fix any other instances.
Appreciate you listening though - and thanks for the feedback :)
