Great idea. Love the hovers ♥. The encounters are great, it will be great if there's some follow up after action, like after found birds birds-sound , if you attack someone blood splatter on that tile etc in the next turn. You should try different keys for move, use numpad best for 8 ways movement. There's one issue that should be changed, the decision making, once you clicked one you can no longer choose another one, in that sense there's no point of giving ok button. There was a river and mountain blocking the path but didn't find a way to cross it. Good game . ☺

Fun and neat concept, I can see inspiration coming from older text-based RPGs which were always fun! As others have said, the instant-death encounters are a little harsh, but I was still motivated to make it to the east; having multiple characters also provided some motivation for replaying as well! There's a lot of ways to expand on this too: you could add an inventory system for more dynamic random encounters, make new characters or just new encounters overall. Great job!

This game was pretty fun. It reminded me of my adventures in the Ultima games. I feel much like the Ultima games, if the player would just say in the middle of the screen it would allow him to see a bit more of the world. I as well constantly pressed s. I would almost prefer s to not do anything since I kept hitting is over and over. I feel the landscape got a bit redundant until you got to the river. I would have liked to run into more visual objects to help get my barring. I went all the way north until I hit the mountains, then east until I hit the river, crossed the river and hit the mountains on the east. Then went south until more mountains and then I kinda gave up because I couldn't seem to find anything else to do. I did play it for quite a while and enjoyed it! Well done!

You did a good job! I wish the controls were a bit different though. I constantly kept pressing s, thinking it was backwards. I really enjoyed playing this game, especially after I got used to the controls. I could see this taking off in the future. Great game!

Indeed, every game should have keys rebinding but, as you guess, I ran out of time.
Well, if I get enough positive feedback, I'll make a post-compo version or even a full-length game. ; )
Why not in another "universe", I wonder what players would prefer.

Pretty interesting idea and it's executed quite well. The instant-death traps felt a bit excessive at times, although I felt encouraged to keep trying since I learned the encounters better and better each time. The three roles also offer some replayability. Would've liked some sort of ambient noise or music. Overall, good job.

I was thinking about "soften" the instant-death indeed. It's not because they are obvious to me that they are obvious hehe

An alternative I used is "left for dead" (I don't know if you get it), it's harsh but it's still a chance to win.

I hope I'll be able to play most of the games and yours, but I have some deadlines for the next weeks.

Very interesting game as the 3 roles definitely had me playing three different styles. The dialogue interactions kept me entertained during these journeys as the choices and things I met were unpredictable, cool, mysterious, and even funny! As I was playing, I was always looking forward to the next encounter and see how I maneuver through them. I also like how when you talk to the people, they give you directions of where to go as I would be pretty lost without those encounters. Great work on the game!
