The art direction is breathtaking. (insert Keanu Reeves finger pose)

The gameplay is introduced along which is a really nice thing to do. A game jam with a good tutorial is so enjoyable. You broke each fight with a new gameplay addition. Classic but does the job.

Like some others mention, I find the theme intrepratation a bit common in my opinion.  But again, everything else is working great.

Good job guys !

Interesting game! The graphics are cute up to 11 and the gameplay is interesting although easy to grasp. The introduction of new mechanics makes adds lots of variety. I had a lot of fun with the story also, so many squires out there working hard for their heroes, haha. I love to see so many great games this year made with Godot. Congratulations!

Really fun and cute game! I enjoyed the gameplay, it felt like it has loads of potential as you add more actions. The art is really beautiful and the music matched the theme of the game and sounded really nice!

This is a very solid little game, I loved it! the art is fabulous, and the mechanics got me really intrigued. I like that the ego of the fox plays as the stamina. looking forward to see many more castles.

Hallo,

Thank you for sharing your game. I’ve already saved its RATING;

1. verified: GAME due to sample screenshots, with noticeable drawing technique

2. remembers: from object CLICKING using MOUSE, MACROMEDIA DIRECTOR 6; keyphrase: interactive storybook; adds: Powerpoint with customized animation and additional programmable actions

3. observed: self to did NOT immediately understand the “EGO” count, which causes PLAYER to execute exchange in COMMAND position for the given TURN; remembered: POCKET MONSTERS PUZZLE (GameBoyColor) with the string of the same SHAPE combo;

4. observed: noticeable background music, albeit noticeably without sound effects, e.g. when executing a HIT;

5. notes: GAMEPLAY as TURN-based rock-paper-scissors in a sequence of COMMANDS; observed: no multiplayer game with HUMAN via current GAMEPLAY system yet

6. adds: displayed text noticeably re-orders its characters; remembers: observing voice-overs to NOT yet be included in current version;

7.  observed: return to NON-FULL SCREEN to NOT execute after finishing the last stage with the "WEECH"; notes: self to have had to QUIT BROWSER to fix ERROR;

8. notes: however, GAMEPLAY technique to be reusable, albeit shall add keyphrase: light-hearted

Thank you. Health!

Nice game, I loved the art and the game mechanics! Maybe a way to fasten the actions once the begins could be good (if this make sense)

Developer

Thank you for playing! You can fasten them, if you open the options and pause menu there is a battle speed slider

Oh thank you! I haven`t seen it

The art style is so cute and professional. I love the colour palette. The soundtrack is also very cute and works with the storybook tone.

Overall it was really cohesive. Occassionally i found it a little difficult to interpret what hte new moves would be - the ego boost for example, but nothing game breaking. I made it to the end and can't wait to see more adventures of fox :)

Lovely looking game and a really nice concept. Plays a bit like the mini game in Assassins Creed Valhalla.

Developer

You're right! I haven't played Assassins Creed Valhalla but after having a look at the mini game it does look similar, thanks for introducing it to me ^ ^

I love the art style! The concept of a hero with too much ego & the gameplay around it is also pretty cool, congrats on the game!

Omg the art is fabulous! <3 And the mechanics are really innovative, to bad there wasn't more audio feedback - but the look of this is gorgeous! Well done

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I didn't manage to add sfx but they'll be added in a later update :)

I'll be back to check it out! :D <3

wow, Dude! Those hand-drawn images were so amazing

Super charming art and interesting gameplay mechanic.

The only downside I can see is the lack of sound effects, but the music fits well in the game!

Well done!

Very pretty game! The art is superb, I really liked the way things are draw.

Loved it! I really liked the premise of not being the hero and helping him, trying not to hurt his ego. The art is incredible and by the end I was whistling the theme, so congratulations on this nice game.

Cute story, fantastic artwork, and a nifty battle system! I love that the dialogue sprites were simplified and the in-game sprites had more detail. It was a nice reversal from the usual. The subtle line animation in the dialogue sprites made it work.

The battle system stood out to me just as much as the graphics. In a full release, that could build in a fascinating way. The UI tied everything together phenomenally.

The music is solid, too, and it made it wish there were sound effects. Simple sounds would have filled in the time while you're waiting for the battle actions to play out. I also wish the primary font in the dialogue boxes was a plain version of the main font without all the irregular characters and sizing. In small doses on the splash screen speech bubbles, it was great. In the dialogue boxes, it was cramped and tough to read. A little bit more contrast between the text and the background would also help readability.

Developer

Thank you for playing! You gave some pretty good feedback on the font which we'll definitely keep in mind for the future :)

The art is fantastic! I love the character designs and environments. It all looks really polished in combination with the animations. Great work!

This game is super fun! The mechanics are interesting, the art is amazing, and the music is really lovely. I had a really great time playing it!

It's been said a bunch in the comments, but the art style is fantastic!  Also the gameplay is fun and I love the concept of the story. The relationship between the savvy squire and the hapless knight - brilliant. All the characters were great. Can't wait to see where you all take this.

Great game! I loved the characters and the art style :). I didn't understand what's the cliche though...

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! There are a few cliches as in the typical adventure of saving the princess and the explain everything sidekick character but yeah, we couldn't finish the game as planned so things got left out and it's less clear. And as a whole we didn't focus as much on the cliche aspect.

Thanks for clarifying. I'll give you a lower score on the theme interpretation then ;), but everything else was good!
