Really fun game! Reminded me of the insurance fraud minigame from Saints Row :)
The art style and music were both really nice, and the air control felt great! I also like that you can finish your last combo even if the timer expires during it, so there's no cap on the amount of money you can earn XD
A leader board for ranking players by the amount of money earned would maybe be cool (even if it's just a local leader board so you can track your own earnings), but otherwise I can't really think of much that I'd change :)
Great job!
Really cool idea! Some powerups / things to keep you on the air would have been cool :D
This was addictive!! Really fun game and a great idea for the theme
Very interesting game
This was tons of fun! (funny too) - idk if I did well…I earned 74k (which honestly seems low considering how many cars completely destroyed me lol)
Glad you enjoyed our game! But look at it this way: making 74k in two minutes doesn't sound that bad, does it? :D
Good point!
Really fun game , love the rag dolls effect with air control. Gets really addictive really quick!
Wait, ambulances give extra money. Once I get out of the hospital I'll give it a shot again.
ahhahah XD
Overall pretty good game. The idea is fun and the game plays nice. I especially like the movement, the air control gives the possibility to hit a car almost everytime if you are skilled enough. In my opinion the game could've hade more content, but I understand that the tight time constraints didn't allow for that.
Although WebGL build has some issues, the desktop version is well. So to anyone who still hasn't played this, just download the game.
Thank you for your comment :D
Hallo,
Thank you for sharing your game. I’ve already saved its RATING;
1. verified: GAME due to observed you also wrote a review for “Driven Up The Wall“, with keyphrase: “Ambulance”
2. observed: noticeable use of 3D drawing and animation techniques for objects, e.g. vehicles, controllable dummy, created world
3. observed: noticeable background music as set in CITY to remind self of Super Mario Odyssey (SWITCH); adds: noticeable sound effects
4. verified: GAMEPLAY to be of causing the controllable dummy to be hit by moving vehicles, where: being hit by the ambulance noticeably increases the SCORE; remembers: BURNOUT 3(?) (PS2), where: hitting enemy vehicles also causes noticeable graphics effects to signify CORRECT ACTION;
5. observed: self to have quickly stopped after verifying GAMEPLAY; learns: as self was stopping, MAX GAME TIME to increase SCORE exists; notes: “YOU EARNED: $10,457.4”, “GAME OVER!”
6. adds: STORY to exist, where: controllable dummy is classified by created world as lawyer who is in-need of quick money;
Thank you. Health
Honestly so fun haha.
On the browser version I had some laggyness on the camera and some bugs on the sound but I was having so much fun that I had to install the desktop version and yeah, much much better.
I don't really have much to say, when a game is fun, that's all you need. I would maybe add some goals, like a now you have to reach this amount of money to unlock X thing, maybe that would keep me glued to the game even longer. Really nice job!
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed our game!
We definitely considered more content, we even thought just adding leaderboards would be cool, but unfortunately didn't have enough time :(
We're also aware of the browser issues, we even considered flat out removing the webgl version. I'm happy you tried the windows version and it worked well for you!
Really fun little game. I enjoyed the gameplay a lot and y'all did a good job with the graphics too. Regarding the sound, I don't think WebGL works with FMOD although it looks like there are some workarounds now. Overall excellent experience!
Hi randy! Thank you for your comment! Did you have something about the workarounds you were talking about?
Thank you in advance :)
I don't have anything unfortunately - I had initially seen they were not compatible but found a few things on Google about a plugin someone was developing? Not sure if the person ever finished it or posted it but I'm not great at WebGL things beyond adding a template to my Unity build haha
Ahah thank you anyways 😊
Hilarious. Really makes you FEEL like you've just been hit by a truck. Thanks for the laughter.
Reminds me something I did in one of Saints Row games :)
Music and sounds definitely improved the experience. Maybe some voice lines could make it even better but might be risky if they are not just right.
If anything could be added I'd say more "silly" or recognizible cars like Ice cream truck, Firetruck, police, F1 or even Batmobile :)
Would also be cool if after getting hit I could slow down time for 1 or 2 seconds to plan my next move.
Thanks for playing!
It's funny, basically everything you mentioned was on the board at one point or another:
The game itself is heavily inspired by the Insurance Fraud minigame from the Saints Row series, we had talked about making voice lines when flying in the air, and we had talked about different vehicles with extra bonuses - such as an ice cream truck that would "freeze" you upon impact.
Unfortunately, we didn't have time to implement everything, but if we ever decide to come back to this game and improve it, I'll make sure to pass along the ideas! And I'll insist on adding some kind of Batmobile because that just sounds too damn cool! :)
Fun game!!
I love it!
Ragdoll for the win! What a hysterical interpretation of the theme. I love making my wonderful lawyer bounce from ambulance to ambulance. Got over $400k! Not bad for a day's work. Great job to the team on the assets, gameplay, everything.
And btw, the pun on the name... it got me. Sal Greatguy must be Saul Goodman's protege. Haha
ehehhehe You got the point XD
Pretty neat game! I had an issue where the camera just kinda wanted to move on it's own, but it wasn't too bad, just slightly annoying. :3c
Was that near one of the walls? In that case, it's because of the camera's collider which I honestly didn't even spend much time testing at all... but I'll keep it in mind!
Thanks for your feedback!
Possibly! I was too busy trying to get run over that I didn't pay too much attention xD ahaha. But if I recall, I think at times I was in the middle of the road and it would start shifting to the left (or right) even though I was standing still.
Huh interesting. I'll try to look into that. Can I ask which browser you were playing on (assuming you were playing the webGL version)?
Anyway, thanks for the info!
Yeah, I was playing on a private firefox browser (dunno if the private matters or not). I was on my hubby's computer at the time.
Interesting short game, had a lot of fun bumping into the cars and flying between crash and crash. 11/10 I'll throw myself again under those wheels.
Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed our game!
I loved the physics, and ragdolls are always top notch in any game, especially when they're thrown around like crazy. It also looks very polished in graphics and sound, which makes crashing into cars... satisfying? Very fun and funny game!
Glad you enjoyed our game, thanks for your comment!
Fun game with nice gfx. Unfortunately there was no sound for me on the web version and I don’t have access to a windows machine.
We ran into some trouble with the webGL version's audio but unfortunately didn't have enough time to troubleshoot it much... would you mind letting me know what browser and OS are you using? It might help look into this issues :)
Anyway, thanks for playing!
I’m using brave on macos. I just realized that it had the shields-up (block fingerprinting) for your game page. once I disabled it, it worked. Nice FX!
Nice, glad it worked out! And thanks for the info!
This is the funniest game I've played this Jam so far. Love it!
I got really lucky and managed to get hit by the same ambulance for repeatedly for the whole length of the map. Racked up a x 20 something.. 21 I think or more multiplier.
Glad you like it!
Yeah, if you can manage to "ride" a car for a while, you can rack up some crazy scores. It's a strategy that's hard to pull off but way worth it when/if you can stick it.
Thanks for playing!
