Man that was difficult. It took me 2 hours of struggling with the mechanics and my progress getting lost when pausing the game and having no way to continue as no menu would appear but the game would pause.

Judging by the other comments, I am guessing I'm the only one who did it legitimately. I actually did not know you could cheat until I made to the first cave and came to the game page to figure out how to use that item. It really needs a proper tutorial.

If the game was made to be difficult and infuriating in mind, then it achieves its goal, but I would suggest a simpler mode and adding a challenge mode for those who are daring.

Also my system was struggling upon reaching the top

Thanks for trying out, I'm glad you got to the end, sadly we didn't have time for much testing which led to a lot of bugs slipping by and difficulty being over the top with not a whole lot of optimization. We've spent some time since the jam to work on improving the game and put it out soon. Hope you enjoyed!

The game is gorgeous but really difficult...

Maybe it would be better if there were some very small gaps in between far away ones so the player would have a chance to breathe for a moment and feel like they make more progress than they actually do.

Another advice would be to mark your build as Windows so people can download it through itch.io app (it's a bit more convenient).

Great job, I especially appreciated ambient sounds and character sighs.

Developer

Oh, I didn't even see the option to make the build for a platform. Actually I didn't even know there was an itch.io app, thanks for letting us know.

This game definitely does seem to have ended up too difficult. But if you like, you can always use the fly function to see the rest of the game without grinding through the climbing if you haven't done so already.

Really interesting idea and I love the look of it. Definitely touch gameplay to get used to and eventually I used the flying ability so I could see what was past the first wall. I think there could be a lot of potential here, it just may need slightly easier controls. I just couldn't get the hang of trying to swing to grab another rock. But overall love the idea and fits the theme well!

Thank you for playing our game. It definitely seems like it was too hard this time around. I guess messing with the mechanics for hours every day affects your ability to tell how it difficult it is to some degree.

I hope flying over the walls did not mess with your enjoyment of the experience though

The game was interesting and actually have a lot of content. If cheating was not allowed I could not even pass the first wall.

You should make the first wall very easy, another player told me you could cheat with F in options.

Developer

Yea, the beginning of the game appears to be too difficult since the swinging mechanic takes some time to get used to. We plan on having more fleshed out tutorials in our future games

Hey, I had a pretty fun time with your game! It is definetly unique, Ive never played a game with a control scheme like that. It works pretty well and really had me swinging in front of my pc with my character! :)
I did however think that it might have been a bit too hard for a new player. I get that during development you play the game a bunch and that it becomes hard to evaluate the difficulty for someone who has not played the game before, but at least the start area could have been a bit easier as it took me longer than Id like to admit to even get up the first wall.
Overall I liked the game a lot though, it was a really fun and unique experience. Well done! :)

Developer

Thanks for playing our game and giving us your review. To be honest, the game was difficult for me as well and we'll probably work on putting in a more fleshed out and easier to follow tutorial in the future.

But in case you want to try it again in the future, we have a Flying Mode option in the menus which you can use to skip particularily difficult areas or to just fly into space and see what happens.
