Ooo i really love the reincartnating aspect to this game. Having different tokens to turn into different things to solve the puzzles.
Great concept, and alos good humour in the chat from the vampire :).

Respawn/reincartnate being quiker would be my main feedback.

Great job! Well done!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I wish I had given myself enough time to actually work on level design and make some puzzles. That's why I especially liked your submission!

i love the aesthetic and the idea of the game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

Slartibartflast wants this made into a real game. I agree. It's super fun, and I especially laughed at the dialogue with the vampire. Breaking the 4th in a cool way is difficult to do, but you absolutely owned it! 5 stars to you my friend!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! I guess if Slartibartfast wants it, then it must be done! :)

Good game, really nice ideas! With a little more time and some polishing it would be even better, so keep up the good work! :)

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Nicely done - absolutely keep working on this. I would love to play your next version of this game.

The cat climbing mechanic was a little confusing. I loved the morphing into other characters!

Developer

Thank you! The cat climbing mechanic was the very last thing I implemented to try to make it feel at least somewhat different from the girl, so it's definitely still half-baked. But, definitely one of the things I'll be improving on first in future iterations, as well!

The concept of this game is fantastic, and has all the hallmarks of a great setup for a puzzle game, adding extra reincarnation options and utilising their different abilities to solve different puzzles. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! I'm happy you enjoyed it, and for the motivation to continue working on the game. :)

to be honest, I am most interessted in your Dialog system!

your game is a solid groundwork to build up!

I would recommend following things meow:

Ajust gravity so the Jumps feel more natural.

Ajust the size of  tilemaps to the (new) jumphigh and make them a little smaller so you see more of the world.

The different mechaniks are very nice - at the last level would have been nice if the Vampire was standing next to the exit, so you can run around first and then finish the game by talking to him!

I love the Music it made me very calm and gave some good vibes -> very nec hellish music *giggles*

Developer

Thank you very much for the comments! Those are some great points, and definitely will keep them in mind if I continue working on the game and for future projects. I initially did want to make all characters feel very different (I even prototyped a fish character!) but I had to stop in order to actually submit something that was playable. :)

Loved the visuals! I think a little tutorial screen, also had trouble finding out the keys to play!

Developer

Thank you! I tried to make the help text toggle by pressing H, but I accidentally made it impossible to read at the very beginning. Oops!

Submitted

Really cool! It took me a while to find out the keys I need to pressed. But maybe because I'm kind of stupid lol.

Nice job!

Developer

Thanks! Definitely not stupid. I realized after uploading the WebGL build that I blocked the text telling you which buttons do what at the very beginning, so that's definitely on me.

One little issue in the continuity: One could die and re-incarnate as girl before talking to the boss and his dialogue then is somewhat out of place. Maybe block passing him for that occasion or have some dialogue options for it...

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I thought about making the vampire guy block progression, but I didn't want to stop anyone from going through the level if they weren't interested in the dialogue. I'm still learning how to change the dialogue depending on certain variables, so the continuity is definitely something I will keep in mind in the future!
