Nice one, love the Darth Vader.

I think I saw Darth Vader. Cool art

The game was a little confusing for me, didn't know where to go, and I got stuck on the wall

Good game with cool art. :)

i stucked here...

i think some pivot point problem.

That happens with me too :/

Good going for your first 2D game! I also experienced the bug where I got stuck in the wall and couldn't continue, so I would definitely recommend fixing that first if you do any further updates. Cool level design with the enemies and obstacles to overcome. Keep it up!

The game seems promising, but you need to work on the wall bug. It looks like you're flipping the object when turning, but it does it on the edge of the sprite instead of the center, so you end up moving into the walls.

Also, try to spice up a bit the game page (use the Edit Theme button at the top) and add some screenshots too to make it more appealing. :)

Love the cover and character art and the music!

Like the other say, prety bugy, got stuck many time on the wall, but you can fix this, i wil be back for rating after i can finish the game. Good job anyway for the first 2D game in only 10 days!

I like the concept and the levels seem to fit with the game style but it's a bit buggy and at prevents you from playing. For your first 2d game i think looks good. Once the bugs are fixed i will play again and thern give a rating.

Hey

Congratulations on submitting your project great job.
There are some bugs that you might wanna check.
I got stuck in walls quite a few times.

All in all, good job finishing this project. But like @Brohmyr mentioned below, the character assets are not technically free to use, So you might face some problems there.

For a first time game, way to go for completing it! I would avoid copyrighted content since they are technically not "free to use".

Hey! I know it's a bad rating, but don't get down about it. I started programming years ago, and I remember making games like this too. I wanted to give you an honest rating and review.

Fun: I'm a big fan of action games, but the combat doesn't feel fun. There's no weight to your attacks, enemies don't have a health bar, and you can't tell if you're actually hitting an enemy or not. The first two levels are very straightforward, but the third one is, as far as I know, impossible to complete without glitches. I've gotten stuck in walls as well.

Aesthetics: The game looks bad, the tiles are good, they're just used incorrectly. The game also wildly changes from professional art, to amateur digital art, to stock images, to hand-drawn. It's really off-putting.

Music: You need to diversify the music, it would be fine in one level, but three wears it out.

Sound: There weren't any sound effects, which I understand, my game didn't have any either.

Mechanics: Moving, attacking, and killing works, it just doesn't feel good.

Story: It's generic, but it works, and it makes sense. It's easy to follow what's happening.

Theme: It makes sense, you die at the start of the game, but I feel like it could've been done better. A gameplay mechanic based on death would've helped the game out a lot.

Hi, I noticed your submission is missing source. Your source is everything someone needs to download your game, open it in the game engine, and hit Play to play the game. Here is an example of the files to include: https://github.com/icepol/DeathIsOnlyTheBeginning
