pretty nice mood , i like the story bits laying around in those messages , but i wish the text was bigger for easier reading , the ending is intriguing
I swear I hate those scary game !!
My heart was beating faster 20second into the game haha
Wished I could fire quicker it would make me feel safer !
Enjoyed it :)
I was actually too scared to finish this game at first (even before I saw an enemy) but eventually I stocked up the courage to continue! Feels almost like a 1st person Silent Hill game. I found that the story bits and theme were the most compelling parts of the game for me and if the game continued development focusing on those parts. Big scare-factor, big story, big win.
Thank you for sharing this with us. Hope you get that main menu fixed!
The aestethic of the game is truly amazing, love how those black creatures creep up to you, when I encountered them for the first time, even got scared a bit.
I really love this game. It is marvelously executed and if you ever get around to make a full fledged game out of it I would for sure buy it! The atmosphere is just breathtaking and the shadow monsters are perfect! Some minor tweaks that would even heighten the experience would be to give the gun some kind of knockback effect. So you hit an enemy and they recoil and don't slide towards you at the same speed from their walking. And if you could manage to make the doors more unique to their items that would be great. For example having a place to put the candle and then seeing it appear there.
I appreciate your feedback and I'm glad you like most of the game. I really like your suggestion about the doors being more unique to their corresponding items, that sounds frickin amazing to me. I also wanna improve the gun and give it some animations and the enemy responding to hits appropriately. Initially I wanted to make ammo more scarce and have melee combat you can switch to for certain situations, but I feel we didn't have the time to implement that properly. Again, thanks for exploring our little game!
Very nice game! I have few thoughts:
- The atmosphere is great, very well achieved. The sound effects all mix together very well, and the effects of the flashlight have a unique charm. In particular, in the final area, the light gives a rich personality to the environment.
- I like the level as a whole, well connected, with the shortcut at the church, well connected.
- The particle effects in the notes are well thought, good way to make sure the player doesn't get lost
- I don't know if it's intentional, but when coming back from the police station I couldn't 'walk' through the lower section of the stairs, I had to use jump to go up (the upper section was walkable though).
- Footsteps are well done! I think you have a sound when you go over vegetation, and it really makes it feel you are stepping on a different surface.
Agree with other comment about it feeling quite Resident Evil :).
Wondered if there was any point in the gun for a while,.. then I finaly saw 2 shadow figured in the bushes,.... :o
Lots to get into with this game, will need more time to explore it :).
Great job team, well done!
I love fps games, in particular, this game reminds me the resident evil saga. I love that game, but is third person. that game have fps editions too. I remember that my first fps which I played seriusly in my life was The Eidolon in Commodore 64, Legacy of the ancient, a RPG in commodore 64, uses that system in the Tarmalon museaum too,. That games was incredible for its ages, so many Rol Playing Games tryed to do a first person game in that ages like Might and Magic. The FPs are very enjoying games. Excellent job.
