Good job on getting a full game out - I liked the McGuffin reference. I found a secret room full of coins and beat the boss by sidestepping it in a NES Zelda-style fighting the shield enemies :)

Suggestions for future would be adding something to spend the coins on and maybe making the enemies more aggressive. Cheers.

Well, lack of a web or Linux version unfortunately prevents me from playing...

Thanks for the game. After reading other comments I noticed that I might have missed the main mechanic in the game since I did not die. Fun game. Great submission.

Developer

Thanks for giving it another go. I appreciate that :)

Top marks on this one! I really liked it and that you would take control over the one that killed you is a really smart use of the theme. It played well and the hit sound effect was just right. The graphics could be nicer.  I did manage to beat it as the Cobalt knight :)

Developer

Nice one!

Cheers, thanks for playing.

Honestly, I was so surprised by what you made here. You had such an awesome mechanic and the combat was a lot deeper than I thought. The graphics look like they were drawn in MS paint, but no judgment there. Overall, really awesome job!

What engine did you use to make this game?

Developer

Thanks for giving this a play.

Hehe, yeah I think I need to upgrade from MS paint for my sprites :) glad to hear you enjoyed the combat.
This was made using Gamemaker Studio 2.

Really fun little game, my only complaint is that it doesn't go to full screen, I could hardly read the writing sitting 10ft away from my screen.

But a really solid submission, well done

Developer

Thanks for playing.

Sorry to hear that, I think the only way to fullscreen is with Alt+Enter but I should really get fullscreen option in there.
Cheers

I really liked your game. Animations were nice and controls were solid. I could cheeze the other knight by going through them and turning around and hitting them. I feel  your game really exemplifies the theme of Death being only the Beginning. Any death that you do take, results in you taking control of new knight and beginning a new story with them.

Thank you for your kind words and for having a play.
Haha, yeah the Knights cannot withstand the mighty Cheeze tactics unfortunately.

Great animations and combat, I beat the game! Great concept with the theme on swapping places with knights as well. Really well done!

Developer

Thanks. Means a lot to hear that.

The sword battles had a very satisfying feel to them and the animations for attacking were cool. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for giving it a shot. Had to cut some corners when it came to the fighting, so Im glad to hear its still fun.
Cheers.
