Very FUN and UNIQUE idea on this game! AWESOME WORK!!! GREAT ART!!! NICE MECHANICS!!! This was a fun challenging game. Loved it.
I love all your asset choices. Everything goes together very cohesively and makes for a very polished feel. The gameplay was very creative. I had a couple of close calls in the beginning but then I had a wall of tanks on each side which was very satisfying. This would be a cool project to expand upon!
Thanks heaps for the kind words!
Hey!!
The game is nice, and could definitely see myself playing a further polished version of it.
Loved the fact that you shared your game jam experience in the page!
Thank you very much!
Neat game! I enjoy making gears and plopping down swathes of turrets. And you weren't kidding about the mvp status of the tanks. I managed to survive till the end of the game thanks to just filling the field with those.
The art is pretty nice, the mechanics were fairly simple to get into. Although it was quite tragic when I got three "remove" cards and just had to sit tight for the wave.
Very nice job :D
Tanks are def your best chance of success! :D
Thanks heaps for checking the game out!
Really cool game! The art was excellent and I thought that you did a great job making the game easy to pick up and play which I think is always a challenge for these types of games.
Awesome job!
Thanks heaps for checking out the game!
Woah, this one's sweet!! Love the potential of a tower defense deckbuilder, would be cool to work this into some sort of a roguelike structure like Slay the Spire maybe (or more generally, just having story elements happening between waves that influence your deck based on your decisions).
A lot of potential there, way cool!!
Thank you for the kind words! I love Slay the Spire! (well Roguelike Deckbuilders in general). The idea of influencing the player's deck with narrative decision do sound really interesting.
Much appreciated for checking the game out and for the feedback!
Nice, art style is effortlessly charming. Love the little details. I would've like to see my guy up there running around a bit, maybe pulling out a wrench to fix his bot buddies or joining in the battle himself, he seemed a little too placid for the situation 😅 overall I much enjoyed this game
I def love the idea of him helping out in the future! Thanks for the suggestion and for checking the game out!
Great artwork, everything was super unified and I love the style. Audio could use a bit of mixing to get the levels right but they also fit the aesthetic really well. Nice!
Thank you for checking the game out and for the feedback!
A fun idea, combining deck building with tower defense. Thanks for the tip about the Tank turret, it really saved me and let me get to the win screen!
I had one run where my only cards on the second wave were Remove Turret which didn't work out so well for me.
I think it would be helpful if there was a brief pause after enemies spawn and before they start converging on the player, so that there's time to look at both sides and decide which one needs more defenses. I (think?) as it is now there's always an equivalent force on each side so all the player really needs to consider is which direction has the weakest defense, but in a longer, more complex game I found I could only scroll over to look at one side before I needed to place turrets. Alternately or in addition, being able to 'snap' the camera to the furthest left and right areas would help, the same way that Space snaps it back to the center.
Love that turret! (tho I prob made it a bit too op lol).
Thanks heaps for the feedback! Will note them down. Snapping the camera to the furthest left and right side is def a great idea! (something I prob should have included in the first place)
Much appreciated for checking out the game!
Solid entry. The pixel art was good, and the music and sfx matched will with the style. The UI work was really clean as well.
Its also an interesting take on the standard TD genre. Haven't seen a LR 2D one before. The inclusion of varied stats on diff bots seem to take into account this 2d dimension (e.g. lateral range).
Theres's also no bugs that I encountered. So the feedback would be mainly on my 2cents on gameplay. Firstly, the game is evidently time-sensitive, so at the start of the game (and each round), a start button or a menu-pop up would be a QOL improvement.
To add more strategic depth, perhaps a selector to decide how far laterally the place the bot, would be a better system than LR. This way the player can optimise the placement, adding strategic depth (e.g. placing a tank further, to cater for slots for weaker ranged bots behind the tank.
Great effort overall!
Thank you for taking the time to check the game out and give feedback!
This is noted, especially giving the player control on how far to place each bot against each other.
Cheers!
Yo I finished the game! (like I actually reached the end) the gameplay is actually really interesting & kinda fun, I genuinely love the concept of a tower defense deckbuilding game, I think it has potential if you want to develop it further.
Turret placement is a bit... finicky let's just say. If the enemy breaks through your defenses you're just waiting for a slow inevitable death. I would definitely prefer a drag & drop system so you can pick where you want to place the turrets, or maybe an indicator on where the turret is going to be placed next.
Overall it's a very nice little prototype, I would defo want to see this developed further! Cheers.
Thank you! I appreciate your patience to actually complete the game :P
Thanks as well for the feedback! I will def give them a go. A drag and drop system would give more control and room for creativity, I think, so that would be interesting to see.
Anyway, much appreciated in checking and clearing the game!
