It's impressive that you were able to make something like this for the jam! As others have mentioned, the art style is a lot of fun; between that and the ambient music, it felt a lot like Black and White 2 to me. I didn't get very far because the wave itself never progressed past 1 even when all enemies were dead (and the cannon seemed to habitually overshoot them), but it was a fun experience nonetheless =)
Interesting game, i was a bit lost at the start becasuse i knew how to place stuff but not if i had to protect only what I've placed or something else and more importantly, where the enemies would come from. Once the round started it was all clear though, but i think a introduction could help since you can't modify it while in a wave.
The controls are easy to understand and you can also click to pick what to place which is nice, but you've forgotten to mention to press R to rotate objects.
Also, somehow even though i had my castle fully closed, a enemy made it through the walls without destroying them and i died from that.
Cheers, i hope this helps ;)
Your game looks sooo cute!! The low poly style and color palette are really to my liking! I also looove the environment so much.. the clouds and trees are so sweet! Also also, the little king guy is adorable!! ^^
Visuals aside, the music is really nice and ambient and fits the environment really well. This type of gameplay is interesting but it takes a long time to come to fruition, giving me much time to admire the surroundings.
This was fun! Different than anything I've played here so far, which is nice. I couldn't figure out how to rotate the walls though, the in game controls option doesn't say which button it is to rotate.
Excellent game. I'm really impressed with the amount you were able to pack in to a game jam game! I've said it so many times but I feel like when you go with the 3D visuals, you can have nice models, you can have nice textures, but if the lighting isn't dialed in it all goes to waste. Your game had great models, great textures, and excellent lighting which made everything look just gorgeous!
Really fun game and I will be playing some more once voting is over! Trying to play as many submissions as I can :D
Awesome Job Floating Chicken Games!
What a cool idea. I like the idea that you choose your positioning. Also, the concept of these little guys willing to swim across and single-handedly take on your castle is kind of terrifying. It was a struggle to run on my laptop since I don't have a proper graphics card, but luckily that didn't matter too much for the style of game it is. I was also wondering about rotating the walls, but it looks like you covered that in another comment. I wasn't able to progress very far mainly because I couldn't close off the walls properly, but maybe there's a better strategy
