The palette, look and feel of the animations on this are so great. Love the vibe.

If I could play with a controller I think I would've enjoyed this better. I almost quit on that first infuriating double platform jump required right at the start. That was so tricky to pull off... that sort of jump backward but don't hit your head, then land back on the upper platform. (With the current controls, it made it nearly impossible). Maybe the movement speed was too slow to pull that kind of stuff off easily? I'm not sure, but besides the control frustrations... the rest of this was so good!

Played this on Twitch yesterday.

Had a great time loosing it while playing. Love the graphics and audio. The fact you can simply refuse to play the game at the beginning point blank killed me. Really liked the idea of using a stack of power-ups as the health system. IMHO where the game fall short is on how controls feel. Having tight and enjoyable platforming controls is really hard and for me they aren't quite there on this one. It feels kind of unreactive on the X axis and too reactive on the Y axis, resulting in most jumps being a tad awkward. More air control would be nice too. And obviously gamepad support would help a lot.

I'm a fan of the fact you can play the levels as you want in no particular order. That way you can just decide one level is too hard and continue on your merry way. Well... You could do that if there was a way to back out the levels, but you can't. So once you're in a level you can't beat, you're basically soft-locked and need to reset. Which defeats what's nice about not being forced to play every level. But I imagine it's more of a jam oversight than anything.

Anyway, I'm rambling now. You made a cool game. Go over and smooth the controls, give the player a way to exit out of levels, and it'll be even cooler! Keep up the good work!

A very cute and authentic game. I really enjoy the Mario "Homages"! The art and animation is full-on charming.

Great work! It was fun and enterteining, i would love to had any kind of menu but despite that i think its really complete and solid.

As I said in your page, a pretty cool game with a very nice presentation. Just little bit difficult, maybe. The intro was super fun!

I chose No.
10/10 would No again.

For real, I love the overall tone, the attention to detail (the blank screen between intro screens is VERY GameBoy), and the presentation.
I would've gone with fewer, more polished levels, but what's there is a lot of fun anyways.

Awesome game, congrats!

This was really cool, you managed to fit a surprising amount of levels into this despite the time limit, which is really impressive. The art style is very clean and pleasant too, although I think some of the platforms look a bit too much like background elements (One of your screenshots shows what I'm talking about).

It has some rough edges though. I've never been a fan of 2d platformers like this where you have very little air control but then also have to make very tight jumps. There were a few points where the levels felt kind of unpolished too (Which is kind of expected since you made so many), like jumps that are a lot harder because of how easy it is to bonk your head or how the balloons in the skyscraper level don't respawn if you fall and need to get back up again.

Overall you did a good job though! It's a very solid Mario Bros style platformer.

This does feel very game boy, it has some tough spots here and there where the controls feel stiff but overall a very pleasant experience

Its has its rough spots, but it was charming to play.

The lack of and form of save killed me when I had to restart after clearing half the game.

but I still had fun. it was Bestin
