This was a fantastic idea! I like the combination of asteroids and paperboy. The art and music is great too. The only issue I had is that the newspaper always seemed to come out in a weird spot or not go exactly where I expected them, but that was very minor and was a bit fun to play around that even. Really solid entry!

Great audio and use of the palette in this. Solid gameplay too, though I found it a bit too hard  overall (the second level took me about 15 tries; I really suck at aiming :p. I ended up giving up on the 4th level). I'd prefer if the hitboxes were a little more forgiving (larger on the mailboxes and smaller on the enemy ships). Great concept and overall execution though. Nice work!

Thanks for playing and for the great feedback! Just out of curiosity, did you buy all the upgrades? If it's still too hard, maybe we either adjust the difficulty of the levels or simply make better ship ugrades. Your feedback on the hitboxes is really valuable as well!

Really great game overall. I love the SGB style color palette used. Level 4's difficult spike killed me though.

Developer

Glad that you like it!

And thanks a lot for the feedback! Balancing the levels is tough. We wanted players to max the upgrades before finishing the game. And for level 4 timing the shield usage (upgraded to the max) is key.

If you like to finish the game and your progress is lost, i could send you a savegame from level 4. Thanks for playing!

Great game, shooting left/right is a nice change from a shmup and upgrading is fun. The music is great too and it's nice to see a game tackle the GBC side of the GBJam well.

Nice gameplay, don't fell that old/classic of a game, but was stuck playing, nice one.

Wonderful soundtrack and gameplay was a nice throwback to paperboy. I was reading the text in my head with a transatlantic accent.
