How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
The most obvious way we incorporated the 'spooky' theme of this year's jam is the environment and characters. You can pick between 3 classic spooky characters, a witch, vampire, and werewolf. Each character has their own special ability that will allow them to explore areas of the world the others cannot access.

There are 3 levels plus a boss. Each level has it's own spooky setting and enemies. Some of the enemies are classic horror characters, but the spookiest part about them is their behavior. If we tell you about behavior here, we'd spoil parts of the game. Let's just say there may be a jump scare or two.

Probably the least obvious way we incorporated the 'spooky' theme was by laying a few Easter eggs from some of our favorite horror films. If you spot them, let us know.

The spookiest thing we did this jam was push the 4 color palette restriction by giving each character their own palette. We are rule followers and it gives us the heebie-jeebies to bend the rules. Polyducks did say the rule was only 4 colors on the screen at one time, we're pretty sure we didn't break them.

Amazing that each character had their own mechanic! Great platformer and the different characters were really keeping the gameplay interesting! An all around top notch game!

It's a very creative use of 3 different characters. The graphics are adorable, I loved the werewolf. The palette swap makes everything more fun. The soundtrack is very well executed, and the characters are very charismatic, congratulations.

Every character plays perfectly on all stages! This mean you put a lot of thought behind stage design and it shows! Really unique gameplay choice and I love it! Great job!

Vampire do be op, hahahaha, quite a fun game. Nice usage of palette changes.

LOL. We didn't want it to be too hard to make it through the game. IMO, the werewolf was the strongest. Thanks for playing and commenting. :D

That was quite fun! The art, concept, and character design is very charming. The soundtrack is especially proficient! The three characters are balanced well and are all fun to use; I especially like the way the vampire's verticality is both a strength and a weakness. Great work!

Thank you! Our goal for this jam was to make a platformer with enemies, which is something we hadn't done before. We didn't break any molds with what we made, but we definitely learned a few things. We're really happy you enjoyed it.

Awww! Thank you! The werewolf was the hardest of the sprites to make. I'm super happy the ears made you smile. :D

Amazing game! I really like the broomstick animation, and the attention to detail with the artwork. The music is fantastic too - very much gamboy music! and spooky too! it ticks all the boxes for me, good luck with your ratings!
