Fun game! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the GBJam 5 games, if you'd like to take a look :)
precision platformer without controller support!
Cool art, simple and fits in but with some added juice that pushes it beyond.
Gameplay is good and an impressive amount of levels created for a jam but hiding things off screen at the point of a jump introduces a bit of trail and error into the mix which isn't ideal for precision platformers.
Only thing I'd add is a couple of simple enemies to introduce a bit of spice into the mazes. The air and ground speed/control feel spot on for your game
Brutally hard platformer, that cries out for gamepad support.
Really nice platformer, the controls felt very good (especially the walljump) and some levels were a bit challenging. If it had more levels, I would have played them all !
This is hardcore, made my hands go liquid. That last level!!!
Tight, responsive controls and fun level design. Great job!
Great level design! Wtf with the duck lol
Wow, that's a tough one... Great character, fun concept, pretty tight controls, evil level design - nice job!
Best platformer I've played so far. You nailed the balance of control and slipperyness that great platformers have. Exceptional work.
I like those kind of extremely hardcore platformers. I had a lot of fun playing it, good job!
Great game! I found it really hard but managed to beat it eventually. The tutorial is evil, but I like it.
i like it alot man the last level tho had to restart a ton.
Really hard to master but very fun game. Controller support would be a good addition.
Good work!
Awesome game! It really has this Super Meat Boy feel, specially because of the way you kinda get glued to the walls while jumping (which I personally don't like veeery much, but I know that's just me).
The character is very charismatic too :)
I'd say it's a great entry! Congratulations!
Solid game, very Meat Boy-like. The platforming works well, and I like how you can press space to jump as well as pressing up. Every time the character died, "I hope you have insurance", indeed, it felt like it was my fault, which is always a plus. Well, outside of that cheap trick early on, but I knew there had to be something there. I'm still fine with it; there should be a sense of humor with this idea.
The music feels like a placeholder that doesn't fit the game or the Game Boy feel, and I did use that mute button eventually. I also agree that there should at least be a pause between getting the goose and going to the next level. I pondered whether there should have been a pause after dying, but after dying about 20 times on the last level, the lack of pause there is a blessing.
Great game!
I really enjoyed this game and I am sure I will return to it to try and complete it! Some really good level design, although a few of the levels you had to be prepared to die to suss it out. And on one I obviously got the chicken but it all happened so fast I'm not even sure where it was or how I got it! Maybe just a second or two lingering before shooting off to the next level would have helped? The music is a bit repetitive but not "I want to put spikes in my ears" bad, but I'm not sure it really fits with the GameBoy theme? But all in all a really good game.
Awesome game Goose! Had fun with the platforming. I like the end :)
Solid entry!
