Fun game overall! I had fun collecting everyone together to kill them with a charged slash, art is really well made and there is a great amount of juice in this game, nice job!

Submitted

Really good visuals and the combat felt really fun.

The charge attack felt really powerful.

Fun entry!

The art is good, and it feels good to play.

So juicy. Well done

Super punchy game, I loved it!

Controls gave me great satisfaction.

Perfectly set difficulty (I suck at everything, and got to wave 4).

Dang this is good

Man, that sword attack is SO JUICY ! Great stuff !

The balance of the move set is a bit wacky, I found that the only powerful attack is the basic attack, because everything else does very little damage and a slow attack speed, especially the charged attack that is really cool visually, but is pretty deceptive, it should one shot most enemies given the time it takes to charge.

But that's not really a problem since the main fun factor is the dash attack, I could spend hours just dashing everywhere...

Super fluid combat! I was really getting into the zone with it

Probably the best game I played so far. Great pixelart, gameplay loop is simple to understand and everything feels smooth, impactful and right. Awesome!
(As a side note, you can just stand in the corner and swing in one direction. Finding this kind of killed fun for me, but after 20+ minute of playing.)

Thank you for the kind words ❤

I agree, the balance is a bit cooked. More enemy attacks (ranged, aoe, spikes, bombs, etc)  would have forced more movement and playstyle changes, but I ran out braincells oops haha

No worries, it's game jam. If I'd have to count how much ideas I cut on during these. Time is pretty big constraint.

The sprites spinning was tripping me out lol. I like the game!

Slash animation feels really good! Great game!

Love seeing some Godot games in this competition!

Game feels great, combat is really satisfying and the sword effects are top notch. I really liked all the options I had to fight with.

I would've loved to see some more enemy designs and mechanics to flesh this out a bit more.

Very well done!

Cheers friend!

I'm loving Godot, switched from Unity ~6 months ago and am having a lot of fun.

But yeah, more enemy variety would have helped show off the different mechanics better. All I had done by Friday was the character controller, so I had to quickly slap together an enemy and infinite waves to have a game loop.

Thanks for playing ❤

Free assets + skilled developer = nice game

Very fun and juicy! Excellent. Controls felt good and lining all the enemies up and slashing them to death was very satisfying.

Pretty good juice, but I think it should have blood particles flying everywhere when you kill enemies. The dash+slash combo is OP, but every attack was fun to use it doesn't matter so much. The music works, but something more chiptune-like would have fit the art style better. Also a suggestion: an attack where you throw the sword but you can slash around the area it ends up in could be a cool addition. Well, if you think about expand the game (which you should).

Developer

Thank 🙏

Yeah I have blood particles in there, but they are quite hard to see now that you mention it. Glad to hear the attacks are inherently fun. Slashing straight after throwing is a great idea for an upgrade! I've got a load of improvements for different spiritual weapon attacks and charged sword passives if I continue with this game (which I just might).

Cool! The effects are great, the charged attacks feels especialy good. The game could use a bit more enemy variety, just to spice things up. Well done!

The attack animations are really juicy. I had a nice time trying this game. The game could be a bit more punchy though

Hi !
Juicy sword game we admire that, we faced few bugs and the player sprite rotating with the mouse movement felt strange but the juice and game feel is great we love it

Exteremely good pixelart, effects and visuals overall. The flying sword is quite interesting mechanics in terms of that attack is coming not from the player but from the sword itself. Gamepad controls are barely playable due to missing right stick aiming, thus in order to attack enemy behind yourself you need GO back.
