Did you use any third-party assets or skeleton code?
the only thing I used online was the callibri font ttf file. Everything else was either made by me during the jam or has some small bits of reused code from old projects to avoid rewriting them again.

Very cool, awesome boss and overall mechanics. Wish the VIP had sprites but that's all really, nice work!

Like the screenshake and the shooting in general. It's a really fun base concept, and overall I liked it. Pretty polished for the amount of time.

I really like the shooting animaion off the player, its very juici, it will be good if the game starts with a soft introduction or a tutorial because the begginig its a little bit abrupt. Over all its a very good game :D

I suck at this game. But the idea is fine. :)

The weapon knockback is cool, but the camera is glued to the player. I makes the game feel a bit laggy when you shoot. You could do some smooth camera follow.

Also, the cone of the bullets could be controlled by the distance of the mouse from the player. If close, the projectiles could be spread out and if far then the cone could be more narrow.

This was a fun game, and the art was very nice. Something I'd suggest is making jump button and the launch pad button the same,  as it was sometimes a little weird feeling to have to use different buttons for the actions.

This was a great and fun game, though I did have the most fun playing against the boss, though it was a bit too hard for me. The art is amazing, except that the VIP and the portals are square sprites, but everything else are amazing. there's a great potential for a game here, especially a boss rush game.

Nice effects, and screen shaking! I had some problem due to the fact that you move when you shoot, so i felt down so many times! But ptobably beacuse i'm bad :') Well done!

Defending a giant VIS (very important square) from one-eyed aliens with a shotgun? Sign me the square up! Honestly, just shooting felt good. At first I felt like the recoil was a bit much, but I quickly got used to it. Enjoyed the juice and the presentation, the art and music fit together pretty well. Nice one!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I had no clue what the name of the VIS would be but I guess that would be way better than calling it a vip considering its not a person lol. The recoil was actually one of the things I of the thought of tweaking but forgot to do it before submitting.

The insane amount of bullets makes this fun and I like the vertical level with the portals. Just felt like it could use one more regular enemy type or something and a bit more juice. Cute character and art.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! And I agree, I had another enemy concept sketched out that never made it to the game sadly due to time constraints. I seek to add them and add more juice once the jam is over.

forgot to add a note saying that if you want to go straight to fighting the boss. press the 'P' key when on the Game Over screen, you will also be given 900 free points to spend on the shops.

Though i did forget to nerf back one of the boss's annoying attacks moves so uh yeah sorry :( also dont forget to read the "PLEASE READ.txt"  file for a brief explanation on how the game works as I didnt have enough time to implement everything to the game.
