Beautiful game! Hansel and Gretel but more cute and with music and rhythm.

Really cool concept and really well executed! I think I was having some issues with it going in and out of sync (even though I'm on chrome) but it was still fun. I also think that a visual indicator of when you should press the button would be nice, since (especially with the possible sync issue) it wasn't always clear how exactly the presses matched to the beat
Thanks for the comment :) The beat indicator was one of the challenge we faced, we the icon going grey and a change in the animation we thought it is clearer now on when to move but still not perfect. There is also the little words (good, perfect, miss) but maybe we could give less subtle hints on the tempo with a karaoke timeline or something like that.
Great idea, rhythm games are very cool, maybe try to better communicate that you can dig through sand, and try a bit better show when you should click. Overall solid game
Absolutely great original concept for a game! Solid aesthetic, everything works together, easy to get used to, and a funny little dark story to accompany. Juicy as hell too! I did have some issues where the music would desync with the hits when you die, so it was harder to pick up that slack, but that might just be part of the gameplay at that point, like dying in hotline miami and getting less of a rhythm of the room, but still being able to pull it off. Though HM doesn't require you to hit your steps to the beat x) great game overall tho, real impressed!
Really neat idea with lots of juice. I really think the wolves brought down the core concept. The idea of making your way of the bodies of the fallen is interesting, but when I knew a wolf was inescapable - there was no point to continue. I may as well keep dying until there is a realist opportunity to escape the wolves. It ended up making when I could actually play the level design feel arbitrary.
Thanks for the comment :) Actually the wolf is escapable, when you do 5 consecutive correct beats, it has a little animation a freeze for one beat but it is not as clear as it should maybe (In easy mode, the wolf will stop just before eating you, except if you go to the tile where the wolf is standing).
On previous versions of the game the wolf was smarter (doing a manhattan distance so taking shortcuts in the grass etc...) and even harder to escape haha, but we changed it to the actual system where the wolf just "replay" your moves, only avoiding eventual loops you made.
Really fun game! I'm terrible at rhythm games but loved all the juice.

Love the inspiration from Crypt of the Necrodancer! The music and visuals were fantastic, and the humor was spot on. The writing really added to the game's charm. However, I noticed that the beat detection during the final song was a bit off sync, which made it difficult to keep up with the moves. Still, I had heaps of fun! Really nice entry
Really cool concept ! really fun & challenging !
Good job !
Cool concept of moving through the level on beat. Nice twist on rhythm games!
Wow, juiciest game I have played on this game so far!
The music is so good, the gameplay mechanic fits so well, the consequences of your actions remain, it is a very good game, would do very good on android!
I would definitely play it again :D
Really funky game, the amount of effects made the game feel really juicy even if it wasn't always entirely clear for me when my input was on the beat (or i just suck x) ). It did feel really nice once u get into the rhytm. I really liked this game's interesting mechanic of clearing the way with the life of your previous iterations. Nicely executed!
This game is a blast. If you step on a mine. :D
Also, the music is fire! Thanks for the soundcloud upload and link!
What I liked:
- This is a very creative and cool take on a rhythm game
- The story was funny and simple to understand and really works well with the gameplay
- Having multiple iterations of characters go through the level to make it easier for the next is a super cool idea and implemented well imo
What could be improved:
- The mushroom mechanic wasn't my favorite because it made the controls feel super inintuitive, which I know si the point, but it took away some fun for me.
- It felt like I had to follow the off beat instead of the main beat, which kinda threw me off
Thanks for your feedback! We were a bit afraid that the story was unclear but seems it worked!
It seems you're not alone to dislike the mushrooms ^^
For the offbeat problem, did you play on Firefox ? We experienced sync issues with this browser when we tested. If it is not the case, do you think some sound elements caused this? We tried to be careful with not putting sounds on offbeat, but maybe we missed something!
[Edit]: I'm the one being to slow for the answer :p
Thanks for the feedbacks!! :)
If you played in your browser it's possible you had sync issues (probably due to performance). But you can "see" if you are too slow or to fast with the position of the quality of your press : the "Fine" can appear on the left (to early) or on the right (to late). Same for "Good" and "Perfect".
Hope it can help. But give it another try on the desktop version it should do the trick!
I played the game again on a different computer and it was great! The beats were definitely on time and it was pretty addicting. I didn't like the mushrooms at first, but when I realized that the backwards thing only lasted for as long as the letters I got the hang of it. I think you shouldn't take the mushrooms out but maybe do a clearer job of explaining the lifespan of the backwards hits. I beat the game with one kid left and it was super funny and well made! My favorite game I've ratied so far!
Liked it a lot! The concept is very interesting and the game is very polished.
Wow that's some finely polished entry ! The accuracy requirement is a bit too high for me though XD
