this was a really good puzzle game! the mechanic of extending the sides was really cool and the puzzles were cool. I had one big problem when you'd move the camera but the controls wouldn't change in relation to the camera so it got kind of annoying especially for the platforming. but still a really cool game!
Yeah, as other have said, I'll have to do a third person cam or clamp the player's movements to the cloest cardinal direciton of the camera
All of the puzzles were a lot of fun, though I did somehow manage to cheese some of them cause the green goop is broken and didn't kill me. The aesthetics were well done and I liked the little detail of having science bro watch you in every level. Also good job on the music :)
yeah my biggest regret is not giving science bro the bigger role I wanted for him lol.
And yeah as discussed I think the acid is just having trouble when the place is also touching another collider, so I'll make use of the ground check raycast to check for acid too without muh performance difference.
It was a fun experience!
I like the camera-related actions in this game since they make the player discover their surroundings! Extending our shape from a side is also a nice touch concerning the theme, and I must say that I liked the levels!
Apart from those, I liked what you have done visually. Post-processing effects were nice, and the basic shapes I think suit the gameplay. I also liked the music track!
Well done!
Honesly blame the URP pipeline for how good it looks, the subtle bloom and how it handles HDR emissive colours makes anything look wonderful.
I was half tempted to do HDRP but I have had many issues with it in the past, but it can look even better, if a lil too bright. And if you are gonna use it yourself, a lot more shop assets are compatible with URP than HDRP if you ever need to use them, I went with URP simply in case I wanted to use a low poly water asset I found on the store.
But thanks!
The mechanic is so nice and fun to play around! I had a great time playing this, but the fixed camera can be tricky when the cube is jumping on platforms, a 3° person camera would be great for this
I think it can be a solid puzzle game if you update it and tweak some aspects of the gameplay
Yeah maybe I'll change it to a "drone" following the player around the test chamber, y'know, for lore reasons. And have the security cameras as a camera you can swap to from a control panel or something... because for some reason I spent time fully modelling security cameras you never see lol
Certainly needs plenty of tweaks and fixes. But thanks for the feedback, I'll have to consider implementing it.
It took me a while to figure out the first level (I'm terrible at all puzzle games), but these are some great puzzles! I love the lab experiment theme, too! Great job!
Heh yeah it was gonna be bigger with science bro talking to you to explain core concepts, but I have never done dialogue before and I couldn't quite figure it out in time lol. So it's something to fix after the jam.
cool game had fun with it can you play my game?
Tis the least I can do
Sometimes when i fall into green area it stays there and i have to refresh the game but other than that its really good game.Nice job!
Yeah I noticed them myself and could't figure out quite why it did that.
I think something about hitting another collider whilst entering the acid's collider? Either way I'll try to get it fixed when this jam is over, probably just as easy as chaning it from a "on enter" kind of collision or using the ground check raycast to check if the ground is acid lol. Thanks for the feedback.
I like the Gameplay and the different levels, but for me the Movment was a bit difficult
Yeah, if I ever continue this project I'll have to figure out how to best let the player move.
I did consider using a clamp function to snap the players movementto the closest cardinal direction the camera was looking in, but I felt that would be too confusing to suddenly jolt to a diferent dirction when the camera moves.
I'll have to gather more feedback I think.
But thanks for giving some! It's always great to see
Cool game! I didn't understand what was happening at first because I didn't see the cube but once I figured it out I had a lot of fun. I don't know if I was missing something but if there was a way to move the camera or make it show the entire map that would make it a lot easier. Anyways the graphics and music are amazing! The gameplay is fun and this is a really cool and original entire! Great work!
Damn thanks a lot for the feedback, it's so kind lol.
And yeah I did consider a mechanic where the player would be able to swap between different security cameras to get a better view, could have probably used numbers on keybaord and the trigger buttons on controller to swap, but I ended up just trying to design chambers around one camera's sighline due to time.
