Very good job! I loved it! At first time i didn't notice that my death body remains in the scene, but it's brilliant!

Ok so please excuse the late review, just as my game was under your radar this was unfortunately under mine as well.  Now woah, this game is incredible!

It starts off with basic platforming but this is done brilliantly with tight controls and everything feeling buttery smooth. What really got me hooked though as I was playing was discovering "these people get it". It's like you know what makes metroidvanias tick and I love it (much more than just open-world platformers). Creating the memories and experiences across the map got me invested and really added to that feeling of wanting to explore and discover more secrets. You've also managed to somehow get the feeling of a grandiose scale within a week??

More good things to say... The trophies system is brilliant, as you can hopefully tell below I really enjoyed finding these quirks and hidden places. I am so thankful that I got lucky and discovered the lamp by accident because lmao you guys are evil with that one. Also, accumulating into a final one life test was a brilliant finale even if after doing 100 coins it felt like a breeze. I enjoyed collecting the coins as well but unfortunately aside from the trophy they don't serve a purpose so might be nice to have a high score per life or some other way of integrating them? Also, the camera management was consistently good, and aside from the small issue getting from room 2->3 it functioned exactly how I wished it would (I have to take notes). You also somehow manipulated the camera really smoothly for the telescopes which was an amazing surprise when I first encountered it! The jump does not get stopped by bonking your head on the ceiling which works well given these platforming sections + variable jump height. Game saves my progress after closing and reopening!

It's very hard to give much criticism because the amount you've done in a week is already ridiculous, but I'll try to give proper feedback. I think the art direction could have room to improve, whether it is introducing new colours outside of the game's comfort zone or adding a bit more visual variance between zones which already feel distinct in terms of gameplay. It may also be an intentional secret but the high-up boulder was a bit hard to visually pick out from the background, so if this should be clear to find then maybe layer some grass behind? Very small typo on the main menu spelling Throphies instead of Trophies. Also, the spikes that shoot up can kill through a dead body

Hopefully it comes across that I really like this game and thoroughly enjoyed playing it! Also, this is basically a full game so would love to see this either continued or released somewhere!

Wow! I really liked the art and the music and just the whole thing! Impressive feat for a week long project!

That's a genius way of leaving the body behind but would like to have it not on the same level as the spikes :) The music is so great and it gives me medieval vibe from old school platformer games. The level design is also great. There is a noticeable trigger between the music but it is a low level bug. (I just spammed it until the game breaks but it doesn't :D) Good job!

I’m a fan of platformers, and while the body count rised, suddenly my experience became less fun and more frustration. Don’t get me wrong, the idea is great, but the traps are way too punishing and the jump isn’t too responsive, at least on my keyboard (which is a mechanical one, but I digress). The problem is, the bodies of my previous attemps more than once acted as a hindrance more than a little help, and I often got stuck in my own body and started to feel frustrated. It’s a great entry for only 2 people, but please, for the love of god, make it a bit less frustrating :D

Didn't notice my body being left on the ground and thought the UI on the top left was a moon as everything camouflaged together but other than that one of my favourite games made for this jam! 10/10.  Art is great and music is really good as well. The level design is on point with a massive world to explore and the achievements make me want to continue playing

I'm admittedly sort of terrible at platforming games, but I still had fun playing it! The mechanic of leaving your bodies behind and then using them as platforms later on is both creative and delightfully morbid, and also means that, theoretically, if you manage to die enough times, your corpses will act as a safeguard from keeping you from dying in a particular area again. My favorite part of the game had to be the art style, though. The little character is adorable, and the pixel artwork is very pleasing to look at and fits together very well.
Excellent work!

I beat it! Really awesome game! This was very well polished and the mechanic of stacking corpses as a platform is a really neat idea. It's rewarding to die in a way because your corpse prevents you from dying in the same spot twice. My only complaint is that corpses prevented me from beating the game for a moment because I left a body on the edge of a high platform where spikes were moving, so I couldn't actually jump onto the platform because the corpse blocked me from jumping onto the platform from below. So in order to beat it, I had to stack like 4 bodies beneath the platform to kind of make a ladder. Haha. Pretty difficult game and I appreciate that you made it joystick friendly! The controls are very responsive and frame-perfect, although it was sometimes hard to jump off sloped corners where it was needed.  It was also a little difficult to figure out where it was safe to walk / jump down at first, for example the ledge all the way to the left where the game starts it wasn't clear that it was a dangerous place to drop down. The camera work is really great too, very smooth camera following. The music is epic and sounds like something I would hear in a classic silent movie, very nice classical style of music that people don't make anymore. The 8 bit pixel art is wonderful! The splash art on the menu is what really lured me into playing the game. Props to the artist and programmer that worked on this game. :)

Totally awesome. Never have I ever minded dying so little. This is really solid and I will revisit it once the ratings are done. Regardless I hope you continue to work on this game it is great. Kudos indeed.

This is such a beautiful game, when I saw the image on the submission page I kept thinking that it looked really beautiful and couldn't wait to play it. The sounds and music are excellent and the game itself is really fun. amazing job.

Wonderful stuff, excellent visuals and thematically very well-rounded - loved the use of Danse Macabre as gameplay music ;) The switching of camera views for different sections of the level was really smooth and reliable which I felt was important for platformers like this! I also found a secret area which was very satisfying :D

I  had a ton of fun with this one,  and absolutely plan to play it some more later.
Morbidly cute and funny.
I was very much expecting the (spoiler?) umbrella  to  go back to its original place and seeing it just sat there on the body of the previous wanderer made me laugh.

If I were to make any critique it'd probably be the the camera's zoom is sometimes a bit  wild and I occasionally got a bit disorientated by it,  though I expect that's just a matter of tweaking.

Really cute entry. Awesome work!
