Amazing game I really loved the art and game design
Thank you, glad you liked it.
The graphics were gorgeous, the gravity switch mechanic was really creative, and I liked how I was able to navigate past enemies even without a bullet: it was just that shooting down an enemy could make a select area easier, if I was willing to sacrifice my ammo on it. Like other people in the comments have mentioned, however, it can be pretty difficult at times. I think some sort of checkpoint system would be helpful, especially in the first level, as that's when players will be learning the ropes and getting used to how things play. That's just a suggestion, of course! The game was fun as it is, and while difficult, it wasn't impossible. It's a good stand alone platformer!
Great suggestions, thank you. unfortunately I couldn't add anything new and I only made this in like 3 and half days. but I think I will expand this project after the jam and will definitely use your suggestions. thanks for playing and feedback.
I managed to get the gravity shift bullet, use it once but then navigating the different storeys down (?) stumped me, and I couldn't really figure out where to go to proceed. Maybe a simpler tutorial level where the player gets to use the power-ups in a shorter amount of time to get familiar before any real challenge would have helped?
Other than some balance issues, this had great use of the assets, a really neat idea and everything worked well!
Sorry that use of items wasn't clear enough... honestly I didn't have enough time to make any other level or tutorial, etc since I missed half of the jam. but you are absolutely right about that. there should have been a tutorial. thanks for playing my game and giving feedback.
It's quite a cool looking game and has some nicely designed features. I admit that I haven't really had the patience to be able to complete the first level, but that's on me for playing this so late at night while tired. Maybe coming back to this later would be best. I do like that with more retries it becomes more clear what I have to do to get past enemies. I got stuck trying to grab the midair gravity pickup and press it in time to land on the higher platform. Many times I either overshoot it completely due to how fast the character flies up, or grabbed it but panic-pressed space so quickly so I end up falling down instead. I might get through it once I get the timings right.
Overall still an enjoyable experience, the asset packs are well used and gameplay mechanics are pretty interesting to master.
Lol sorry about that... The game is really difficult and totally not on you for being tired lol. unfortunately I couldn't change the main stuff after I submitted and didn't really have time to test everything since I missed half of the jam.
Thank you for playing and feedback.
Firstly gotta say the art is great so as a fellow lover of pixels, really cool aesthetic and great job putting it together! Personally I like it when the pixel size is consistent so it would be nice if they matched up, I appreciate personal preference though. Also as other people have mentioned the level can be a bit tricky to navigate when its hard to know where to go but maybe some clearer directions or wider camera view could help that. The different power ups were fun and a few cool moments like switching the grav of the enemy to eliminate each other made it an enjoyable time :D
You are totally right about the directions and difficulty... will use the advice on my next game.
Thank you for playing and feedback.
pretty fun game a little tough but I think decrease the fall (and rise?) speed to make it easier and it's cool
yea I got that a few times by players that it's too difficult, I will try to make it a bit mellow lol.
Thank you for playing.
The game is really great, both visually and regarding the game mechanics. There's a few errors that could be fixed: the first one is about the game's audio, which resets every time you return to the main menu (rip ears), the second one affects the enemies in the stage, since during the death animation they can still do damage to the player - but maybe that's just a feature and not an error.
GG anyway!
Lol sorry I hurt your ears, will fix that.
I wanted the enemies to still do damage when they explode but they look kind of weird as they move a bit after dying lol. been busy a bit this week but I'm going to look into this.
Thanks for playing and giving feedback.
The music and pixel art are fantastic! I had some troubles knowing were I was supposed to go.
Oh sorry about that, I should have been more clear about directions.
thanks for feedback and playing.
Overall a nice platformer with a cool gravity mechanic, well done. I would have liked a checkpoint system because I kept dying near the end and having replay from the start. Also wasn't entirely sure where to go in one or two places, so had to go by trial and error. I did beat it eventually though!
Yes you are absolutely right checkpoint is necessary but unfortunately since missed half of the submission time I had to cut off stuff in order to even make it to the deadline and submit something.
I did put some arrows to indicate where you should go in some places but I guess that's not clear enough lol(sorry about the confusion)
And last but not least I am thrilled to see you got to the end and finished the level. that made me happy.
Thank you for playing.
That was fun and frustrating :D The main mechanic was fun to play with :] The asset choises also fits very well.
I think this game can benefit greatly from paralax scrolling. You should definetly take a look at that. The game needs some balancing in its current state its a bit hard. Also i noticed that when enemies die the explosion they leave behind kills the player if they touch it. I dont know if this was intensional but this makes the game more harder to play :/ Lastly i think the "Quit" button in the main menu is not working.
Overall other then these small issues i had a good time with this one. I would like to play again if you decide to update the game :D Great work !
Thanks and glad you had fun with it(sorry if I made you angry at the screen :p) .
actually parallax scrolling brought some issues up which I didn't have enough time to address so I went for the easy answer lol, but you are absolutely right about that .
And yes I intended the explosion to have effect on the player but sometimes after the enemies die the explosion moves a bit and this was definitely not intended lol.
Also just fixed the quit button, thank you for that.
And for the difficulty issue, I would make it a bit easier but I don't thing changing the main stuff in game level would fall under polishing.
Thank you for playing.
Cyberpunk + Street Fighter = BTNC
Haha Best compliment ever lol. Thank you for playing.
The visuals are good, and the gameplay is pretty nice, really good work!
Thank you for playing, glad you liked it.
Update: So I fixed the bug on music(or at least I hope so lol) and changed the gravity shift button from Left Shift to Space key for more convenience.(Hope this falls under the polish category)
Also would love to hear feedback on any issue you encounter or if anyone still experiencing the music bug.
Thank you.
Very fun mechanic even though it melted my brain a little. The cyberpunk assets were really nice. I know they were a pack but I still liked them and you incorporated them well into the level design which was also very good. I think the difficulty was a little too strong but the gameplay was clean. Also, if a couple extra items were in there to lower the difficulty if only so you could decide when to use them, it would make a big difference. A well executed project.
Haha lol I'm glad you had fun with it. Actually I've been told that my biggest flaw at making games is that I Usually tend to make them at Dark souls Difficulty level lol. I designed the whole level in the last 3 hours or so, since I missed the first 3 days of the jam the rest of the jam was all crunch time for me lol.
Also I have a question. Can you give me some feedback on the music please. was it playing when you lunched the game? or you had to turn it up with the slider?
Thanks for playing.
Hey! I did the same thing lol. Didn't know this jam existed until it was halfway over. I've only been jamming for 3 weeks now but I love it. I've made one every weekend since I started. Also, no sound. I actually dinged you for it because I thought it didn't have any but I will update my rating now that I've heard it.
wow one game jam every week...that's amazing.
Also thank you for giving my game another try.
I found the control layout a little frustrating. It made it more of a grind than fun. But the levels were interesting and I think it has plenty of potential to be further developed. Missing some sound for sure. The silence was a shame. A good implimentation of the theme.
Oh sorry for the unpleasant experience, I plan to do some polishing on the controls today.
Also I've implemented music on the game but apparently there is a bug that the default volume of the music is set on zero, I'm also going to fix this today but in the meantime you can turn it up a bit by using the Sound slider at the bottom left corner of Menu Scene.
Thanks for playing and your awesome feedback
It wasn't unpleasant. I have just had a revisit to experience it with sound. Much better. My entry is littered with bugs. Ran out of time to get everything smooth.
Oh thanks for giving it another try, good to hear. yea i got some bug fixing to do as well lol.
Lets do our best this week.
