I love the extra polish this game got! The little things like the page background, the trailer, having the lil' store character, which I adore 👌😂😭 I really love the visuals and the animations add to them! 💕
Thank you very much! Glad you noticed them :D
Awesome game! Non stop fun, great work!
Thank you vm for your feedback! :D
My first 5* rating! Truly such an impressive game to put together in a week, even for a full 6 person team. Amazing work to your whole group!
Thank you so much!! Too kind ahah Glad you enjoyed our game :)
Wow, this game is very impressive! I enjoyed pretty much everything I saw in the game so far. There is a good variety in enemy types and the guns, so even replaying after failing to reach the final level is fun (haven't reached the boss so far, but got to level four). Haven't got to try all of the guns yet either, but I will probably come back to beat the game later. Breakable cover is a pretty good feature too, as some enemies require a bit of kiting or use of temporary cover.
However, one thing I've noticed is that it was pretty hard to notice the armadillos at first, they seemed to pop up very randomly, and I didn't realise that they were there at first, because they're so dark and inconspicous, and I was also focusing on the enemies shooting me at the time. After noticing them first, I learned to look out for them, but I wish there was like a short spawn animation of them maybe digging themselves out of the earth before they start spinning, or even just a way to make them more noticeable so they don't blend in that much.
Overall, I feel that it is awesome that your team managed to make so many game features in a week, there is even voice acting! Keep it up!
Glad you enjoyed the game and thank you so much for your kind words! :)
You are right about the armadillos ahah The color made them blend too much with the rest of the environment. In the future we will for sure change them to make them more visibile. They spawn from barrels or chests you destroy, but in the the future we'll probably add an animation to make it more clear!
I had a blast playing through WOLO. There's nothing that I would change about the game. But, on the weapons menu it would be great if you added an information tab about each gun that you can hovering over; damage, rate of fire etc. Apart from that it was amazing, keep it up! >:D
Thank you for playing our game! we're so happy you liked it! ^^
We might consider your suggestion, for real  It could for sure help. Thanks again! :)
Very Fun Game! Loving the Gecko and levels! Great Design! But some weapons not sure how useful they are, maybe that’s part of the decision making, you’re lucky at first, then you know which weapons to get?
Thank you, happy you liked the game!! :)
Some weapons indeed are way stronger than others ahah We for sure need to tune them better and balance them more around their cost in toilet paper. We wanted to create one for every style/situation. The strategy is to use the worse weapons at first in order to save up toilet papers and spend them later on the expensive and stronger ones for more difficult stages (and the boss).
This is probably one of my favorite games that I've played during the jam thus far, honestly! The graphics and animations are gorgeous and clearly have a lot of time and love put into them, the different guns have such variety that it's a blast (pun intended) messing around with them, and once you get a feel for the controls, you can start dodging and weaving through enemy attacks and get out of confrontations without much of a scratch. I also really love the shopkeeper and how charmingly dorky he is.
One thing I will say I noticed, that I had a bit of an issue with, was the shop. I would put my cursor over a gun I wanted to buy, and for some reason the game kept registering me as buying another gun that I wasn't on. I'm not sure why this was, but it led to me buying a bazooka when I was trying to buy something smaller, for instance. It was fun to blast my way through the level, but I sort of wished I had been able to save it for another, harder level.
I had a really fun time with this one, and think you all did a wonderful job, especially given all of this was put together in the span of a week!
Glad you enjoyed the game! We'll look into the shop thing you reported. Thanks for the feedback :)
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS GAME. Will be returning to play again & again. I'm not sure there's much more I can add for you to polish that hasn't already been mentioned so will leave it at that :D
Thanks for playing! Glad you loved it :)
This is the most fun I've had playing the jam games so far! Gameplay is the strongest point, and it seems like a lot of work was put into having lots of weapons, a few different enemies, and a great combat/store loop the ensure the player has a lot of fun. Toilet roll being a currency was a funny reminder of the early days of lockdown. Nice touch.
My suggestions for improvements start with the audio. Since you are using asset packs, there isn't really a good reason not to include sounds for every interaction and/or event. The menu and UI felt a bit dead since there were sounds missing there, and exploding barrels were silent. It also took me far too long to realise that some enemies were holding shields. If there were different sound effects for enemies being hit successfully and damaged (a grunt, for example), and an enemy's shield being hit (a smug laugh at your failure to hurt them) then this feedback would clue the player into the mechanics much faster (ie stupid old me, struggling to work out why I killed the first enemy with no problem, but the others seemed invincible).
One improvement you could make to the visuals is to have the little rolling enemies contrast with the colour of the floor for better readability. They were quite difficult to spot quickly, and this game is all about quick reactions!
Overall, a really solid submission! Thanks for sharing.
By the way that you have credited the composer, it looks like you just used someone's existing music? If that's not the case, and the composer made the music for the jam specifically, then let me know and I'll amend my audio rating, because the music was great and really suited the game!
Thank you so much for your review Samuel! :) We appreciate all of your feedbacks, sincerely! You are totally right about everything you've listed, we definitely need to add sounds for more interactions to give stronger feedbacks and we should make the enemies more readable. We'll for sure work on those things in the near future when the jam will be over ^^
About the OST, we gave credit to the composer because we used one of the musics he posted on youtube (to be precise: Fastest Gun in the 8-bit West.). He stated that his works were free to use as long as people gave credit to him. The music is indeed perfect for the game ahah
Cool, I'd probably have listed the music in the asset packs part of the submission page, for clarity. Great choice on the track, it really works!
In fact I think I see it now!
But i remember it being there from the very beginning  You sure it wasn't there from the start? (i didn't change the submission)
I quite possibly just missed it
ahah no worries ^^ and thanks again !
Everything about this game is great. I love the art style and the sound, the gameplay is very fun and challenging too. Great job, guys! :D
Thanks for your feedback mate! :D
Love the style and the tough(but fun) gameplay.
Glad you liked our game :) Thanks, we appreciate it ^^
I really liked the game, it looked and sounded really nice, very Enter the Gungeon. The movement felt good for the most part, the hitboxes of the walls seemed slightly off? Barrells would go up into them, and then look kind of weird :/ I think it might be worth addressing the health of the enemies, in the beginning area the revolver and the shotgun just don't do enough damage to clear the rooms in anything less than 5 minutes, unless I'm missing a serious DPS boost. Should be an easy enough tweak though :D
Thank you so much for playing and reviewing our game :) We'll try to fix the barrells issue and yeah, we need to balance the game for sure ahah We're working on it and hope to give a better experience by the end of the week ^^
Cute game, very polished and a great little experience. I found it quite difficult, but I almost definitely wasn't using the dash enough. Loved the voices and the art work, and all the juicy animations, explosions and variety. Plus, the shop keeper was a cool dude. Great work guys!
Thank you so much for your feedback! We are so happy you liked WOLO ^^ We'll try to work on the difficulty (along with other stuff that needs a fix) during this week of polish! :)
The game was so polished it feels amazing to play. The concept of the game was very smart too. The only thing I think you should add is a simple story trying to explain the objective. Great job!
We'll work on it! Thanks for playing and for the feedback :)
Nice work! Your team did a great job in creating fun gameplay and characters. The merchants voice was great.
My favourite weapon was the malware gun. So fun to use. The boss was well designed and just the right amount of difficulty for the first boss.
I don't if this was intentional or not, but when I bought the revolver, this happened. If it wasn't intentional, it should be, it was hilarious.
Thanks for your feedback! :D Glad you enjoyed our game!
And yes, you found the golden gun which is a very rare drop that can appear when you buy the base gun xD
Great game, well done and congratulations to your team.
everything was awesome, kinda felt bad after I defeated the boss and saw the poor guy crying lol.
Ahah don't take pity on him! He's evil :P
Thanks for playing our game, glad you liked it :)
Enjoyed the game a lot, thanks.
Thanks to you ahah! Glad you liked our game :)
It’s really hard to give feedback in a game that I loved absolutely everything! Congratz on this great game. This game can easily become a full release with more content and some polishing!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I'm going to be super nitpicky because I loved it and it's my favorite game after 40 or so games, so here are my little nitipcks!
Armadillo spawning seemed unfair. Not sure if buggy, or if they are meant to spawn out of thin air. Also sometimes they would never move.
The guys with shields kind of just slow the game down, not a fan of them.
The barrels can be pushed into the top wall a tiny bit.
That's it, that's my three nit picks. You did so fantastic!
Thank you very much for the feedback! We are so happy you like our game :) We are for sure going to polish things up and fix the things you've listed. You are completely true, armadillos and shield guys need some tuning ahah
Amazing game, little thing that bothered me is that i need to think to much :smh:
We'll see about that, thanks for the feedback anyway!
