This is really cool! It really looks like a dream! I don't understand the main mechanic tho. Also, fullscreen would be nice. I think that would help the player to feel more submerged in your weird world. Very nice job!
This game is trippy and weird and aesthetically pleasing and innovative, but I can't, for the life of me, beat it. Also it lags my computer to no end, so there's that. I really liked it!
very unique game idea and art style i loved it very much.
you can go check out my entry if you pleased it will be very nice to rate it and leave a comment.
It is done, I left you a comment ! Thanks for playing mine.
Wow. This is a pretty incredible effort for a two day jam. The art style, sound, and just general atmosphere are all amazing. The originality in the core mechanic and how everything comes together are nothing short of impressive.
I unfortunately didn't finish because I'm in the middle of playing a crazy amount of games, and just am not in the mindset for it right now. But I'd love to play a more fleshed out version with a little bit more user friendliness. As someone else broguht up, erasing to the sentence you want would save a whooooole lot of time. Also being able to press something to make the text skip ahead/finish printing would be a much appreciated feature.
Super interesting game. Definitely one of the most out there/impressive ones of the jam. The interpretation of the theme is probably the most unique I've seen.
Thank you very much for your comment ! I am really glad you appreciated the originality in the core mechanic as the originality is my first motivation when I make a game and only after that I tried to add a good feeling to the game to embellish this mechanic. I was also annoyed by the time the text take to be removed/rewrite when developing the game ^^, so I will definitely add the feature that you describe if I release a post-jam version.
(I wanted to try your game but unfortunately I only have a mac and I did not succeed to launch it on it :'(
No worries! Unfortunately, as far as I know, it's not possible to build a UE4 game for Mac on a Windows machine. One of these days, I'll have to buy a cheap used Mac so I can build games for it!
Thank you for your feedback ! I will try to release a little more friendly version. I only use the java library version of Processing that is a very basic tool for displaying image/text and geometric forms.
Very nice art, very nice effects, very nice sounds, STELLAR atmosphere. Took me a while to figure it out, but still it was intriguing and a pleasure all the way through. It has a little bit of tedium, but the experience sucked me in so much it didn't matter, which is very rare. The idea is very inventive, the execution excellent, it was a pleasure, I applaud the results of your efforts! Also, the ending was so smooth, I was impressed. You've made this pleasant feverish dream mean something in the end, a story tied to the mechanics. Damn this game is good!
Thank you very much for this nice comment ! I am glad you succeed to finish the game even if it can be a little daunting sometimes !
This is really cool, and I applaud you for writing your game in standalone Java and Processing. Very interesting choice of tools. As for the design, it's a very interesting concept, and I'd like to see it fleshed out more. My only complaint is that you can't just choose which sentence you want to rewrite in the dream diary, but rather that you have to keep erasing the most recent sentence until you get to the one you want to replace. It's a little tedious, but I think it's something you could easily change or make more fun, and I don't think it reflects poorly on your overall design idea. Good job!
Thank you very much for your comment ! At first I wanted to make an interface that allow the player to choose more quickly the part that he wants to rewrite as you describe, but then I understand that I would not have the time to do that so I choose an easier and quicker to do option ^^ But I am agree with you, it is very tedious as it is and need some improvement.
Haha, you know you're playing a great game when you don't have a clue on what is going on, but simply can't quit.
This game seems really intriguing! I will definitely check it out tomorrow :)
I really enjoyed what you wrote about your thoughts on the design on the game page, it really makes me want to play the game!
I would say I wasn't completely sure what was going on, I think I mostly got it though.
This game was very interesting and I think the style was really good overall. Although it added to the atmosphere, reading the text gave me a bit of a headache, I think because of how it was shaking and seemed to be changing colour slightly.
Thank you very much for your feedback and sorry for the headache ^^
Very interesting concept, I like the overall theme and feel of your game, however the more I progressed, the more repetitive it felt, getting new words just simply wasn't enough.
Thank you for your feedback ! There is way to finish the game but it is a little tricky.
I don't understand what I'm doing but this is intriguing. The ambiance is really well done
Thank you for your feedback !
