There were multiple games I played that fiddled around with the idea of having controls be altered/taken away after certain things happen, and this game had a pretty interesting take on the idea. However, it's pretty easy as long as you can keep all of your controls, and once you start to lose them, there's no way to get them back, so it's a bit imbalanced. I think this game could work, but should have more balanced design: make it harder to keep your keys, but also implement some way to get them back. That way the game stays interesting.

You can get them back but yeah the whole team agree the game needs more work

I liked the idea, the sprites, and also the engine used :) nice use of screen shake too.

There seems to be lots of room to improve as well! I think that some more sound effects and music would make the game feel a lot better. Also, having only the death scream kinda scared me when I first died hahaha

There was a lot we couldn't implement in time. XD

That' a really nice sprite! I wonder if the game will be updated in the future?

We might

Lovely game, good concept. I think it might be better if there are barriers on the map. It will give you more room to come up with a strategy. Overall, good job, I enjoy it very much!

I love the concept. It sucks that you didn't get to do as much as you wanted but as you said, c'est al vie.

I liked the game a lot, and all of the animations you did. I think the core mechanic of defending your controls has a ton of potential.

A really nice idea! I can see this expanded by giving you more abilities to unlock, which would also mean more towers to defend. If there is one thing I’d change, it’s the game area size / camera zoom. Right now the camera is a bit too close to the character, not giving you a lot of time between enemies entering your view and attacking your towers. Also, when the entire game is without a single sound or music and it suddenly screams out of your speakers, the player is up for a surprise. :P

Other than those, I really enjoyed it. I especially like the enemy design. Overall, nice work!

Yeah, both our programmer and music artist had power outages so plenty elements didn't make it into the game. Literally the build was being implemented right up to the deadline. I also agree about the map size but c'est la vie

Glad you like my sprites. :D

I wasn't able to play, pressing "Space" didn't start the game :/

Ah yes, you need to press enter the start the game.

Really interesting mechanic. It took me a little bit to understand what was going on and how to truly play, and was definitely difficult even then, but really creative nonetheless. All of the art is really awesome and looks like it could fit right into a final fantasy game which is awesome. Also I love the death sound XD

Thanks I'm glad you like the Art I went all out on it.

I love the base mechanic of the game, but the amount of controls needed are a bit difficult and unintuitive, for instance having shift and enter to repair the magic means I need to use the mouse hand, which I'm using for attacking.
The most glaring issue I find with the game is that there's no reward for playing. No progress bars or flashy "You've been promoted" or kill counts, which makes it hard to want to fight off the monsters.
Love the graphics though, and as I said the mechanic itself of repairing your movement ability is really nice.

We were going to have a win state but both our music person and programmer had power outages during the game. It was pretty rough.

Interesting idea, I think it needs more exploration on the concept for me to really see what this mechanic could do. Good start.

We did not get as much time to focus on design as we would've liked... very rushed due to slow programming.

Thanks for the feedback!

A great concept! Having the movement attached to towers you have to defend is a clever idea. The only issue would be that since I could move the towers, I just stacked them all and barely had to move anyway. Other than that the art is fantastic and it feels good to just blow away enemies!

Thanks for the feedback!

I got stuck on the full left side of the map and the death scream scared the hell out of me.

Sorry for the scare, thanks for playing!
