How does your game fit the theme?
Deaths are out of the player's control (i.e., disappearing platforms, invisible obstacles), and many of the game's mechanics involve messing with the player's controls (i.e., inverting control or forcing involuntary movement).

Love the audacity of the game pretending to be this melancholic thoughtful platformer and then rickrolling me.

Lol great game! Love the humor!

Clever ideas, nice sense of humour :)
I only wish that repeating stages was faster (faster character).

The atomsphere was sooooo GOOD! but suddenly I got rick rolled XD also nice jojo reference! I have one in my game too :) the game got harder after 4 - egatS  cuz u shift the controls in the middle of the jump! that is kinda too hard, other than that the game is very cool! what motivated me to keep trying was that Oh so peaceful soundtrack and the ambience, kinda gave a hollow knight vibe.. Overall awesome game!

Nice game. The player character was a bit slow though, and as someone else said it, a little more checkpoints would be great! Cool concept though!

Very nice, I love how the game is self aware of everything it's asking the player to do. You've created a unique experience that's kept me interested longer then most game jams games.

this was such a fun game! from the image i had expected some gris-esque gameplay and was very amused to find out that this actually wasnt the case. i kinda would wish for some more checkpoints, because sometimes the joke was funny the first time but it became kinda annoying when I failed 3-5 times at some place. still a nice game!

Thanks for the feedback! I indeed was aiming for that contrast between emotional artstyle and ridiculous game mechanics. And yeah, definitely should have added more checkpoints on hindsight.

Very cool style and ambiance, reminds me of Journey and Gris! Really well done, only thing is maybe the player character could be a bit faster. Also like the sound of landing :)

Developer

Thank you, I did draw inspiration from those two games haha. Pacing was definitely an issue, I'll keep that in mind for future jams.

The juxtaposition of troll mechanics with the typical emotional indie platformer presentation is amusing. Fortunately, I didn't read the description before playing so the joke fully landed. The controls and pacing make it slip from the good type of frustrating to the bad type of frustrating sometimes.

Developer

That contrast was what I was aiming for haha, glad you liked it. I'll aim for tighter controls next time (if there's a next time :P).  On hindsight, I definitely want the player to be dying due to things out of their control, rather than due to hard difficulty and controls.

love how simple and clean the colors look like!

Developer

Thank you! Contrasting colors can do wonders,  even if it's just a simple art style :)

Loved the art style for this game and the concept. Unfortunately it was a bit too unforgiving for me to progress. Would have been great if each time the movement was switched you were in a recoverable position (i.e. use your double jump to get back to safety) rather than dieing and having to redo the section over and over.

Developer

Thank you! And yeah I did make it too unforgiving, I'll be sure to do more play testing in the future.
