How does your game fit the theme?
Toggle Arena is an arena-based bullet hell survival game where you must fight off hordes of enemies as long as you can. The catch is, the arena will toggle different settings on and off every so often; making the abilities you have, the weapons you have, how you combat enemies and the arena you fight in all 'out of your control'. One minute you could be shooting your way through enemies using a shotgun, the next minute the controls have been reversed. With over 25 different toggles, Toggle Arena not only gets more difficult as the game goes on, but as you adapt to the new rules and circumstances the arena throws at you.

Hey guys, thanks for playing Toggle Arena! As an extra challenge, see if you can beat my high score, 8480.

Great job! We indeed have the same concept (kinda), but totally different outcome. Very well executed! Love the visuals, the clear UI showing what's active and such. And you managed to get more different effects in the game.

Very nice work!

Particle effects are so great. Sound, graphics, and gameplay all work so well together. I also made a top down shooter. Could you give me some tips for improvement?

Really fun and polished! Excellent job!

Hey, loved the visuals! I think you'll like our game too!

Hey! Just played your game and left a rating and a comment. Thanks for playing Toggle Arena, your game Crossfire was actually the inspiration for this game and the one I made for last year's GMTK Game Jam,, so it's cool to see that you've played my game as well!

Oh wow! I'm really flattered to hear that! Never would've expected my games to inspire others as well! Thank you and keep up the great work!

this is awesome, music sound graphics and juiciness, it is addictive

This game has a really intense feel to it, and looks great too! Running and gunning the ever growing mass of shapes while dreading what the next toggle will be makes for a great experience!

I only ended up scoring 1550, but I had a lot of fun with it!

Really fun game. Brought me back to my days of playing Geometry Wars!j

i think this is a type of game that was expected in this jam) well done)

You had some great visual effects. It was really satisfying to mow down large groups of enemies with the flamethrower! The screen shake effect was a little too extreme and tended to disorient me though.

Really cool entry! Love the variety in all of the different toggles. It would have been nice if the tutorial pages were less of just of a text dump, and had more care and charm put into them. (Trust me, I made the same mistake in a previous jam game)

Me: "Pied Piper mode: TOGGLED" (hehe I am the master of geometric shapes!)

the game: "Turret mode: TOGGLED"

Great work! loved the simulation sort of vibe with the filters!

Spectacular.

Fun, challenging and always interesting to see what's coming next.

Amazingly well done for 48 hours.

I liked it. Juicy and fast-paced, and the difficulty is just right (though not knowing when you get hit isn't fun)

That's a lot of content for a jam game. Well executed too. I had fun playing this, good job.

Well done! I had fun playing it and it's well put together!

Feels very good to play - the sounds, lights, and controls worked very nicely together. Of all the "rules change randomly" games from this game jam I've played, yours is easily one of the best. Very polished and fun!

Submitted(+1)

I had alot of fun playing this game! Music and visuals came together nicely and the randomized hazards are a cool addition.

Fun and well polished game, nice work! The toggles kept it engaging by forcing you to adapt your play style to match them. Sometimes the toggle change delay felt a bit long, but generally great job.

I think this idea would be improved by making the toggle speed faster, not choosing normal as a toggle option, and making sure the new toggle is different than the current one.
