The movement and graphics were really nice, and was fun to explore for a while! Could perhaps be nice to collect some arbitrary object so we know what ground we've already covered? or a way to see where we've been? Not sure if that would fit with your vision. I like it though!

Developer

Thank you for the kind feedback :) Yeah I agree totally! I'd like to flesh out the experience a bit more and mysterious collectable 'artifacts' sound like an interesting concept to pursue.

I'll play your game properly when I get the chance, looks intriguing!

Really liked exploring the different color palettes. The invisible walls made it feel out of control, and also made me feel very lost. I really like that little slug thing with the spiral.

Nice job!

Fantastic aesthetic! Feels smooth to play too. Wasn't really sure what I was supposed to do though

Fun experience, I think the idea of making things visible only when you are close to them has a lot of potential. And I think you are right that some atmospheric music would make the exploration even cooler. But that is pretty difficult to make with the restrictions of pico8. Cool stuff!

i love the aesthetic of this! it'd be cool if there was more to do than explore, but nevertheless i very much enjoyed the experience :)

Submitted

Really cool experiment, looks cool as well!

So creative! I'm not sure how it fits the theme, but as an artgame I liked it. You have an eye for colour.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Much appreciated :) I was going for 'out of control' unpredictable world generation but maybe I could have been clearer with that aspect.

Submitted

ah, I guess the level is randomly generated each time

Developer

I'll deffo play your game when I get back to my pc :)

I have no Idea what I have just played, but it looked dope!

Developer

Haha that's the correct reaction! ;) Thank you for playing!

The game is stunning! I love that you can't see the maze but just bump against the walls, it really makes you feel lost!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind comment! :) Yeah it was fun to play around with how much appeared around the character. Extra bonus of the boundary being nearer is that it doesn't lag!

That's a great presentation of the power of pico8 math, because this is basically a math formula made cool. Which is awesome

Developer

Yeah I agree totally. It's so cool that maths can be used to both solve technical problems and also create wacky experimental art. I only really discovered that relatively recently which is why I'm pretty excited by it!

Also pico8 is pretty epic too, perfect for experimentation in a little contained environment!

Thank you for playing :)

That's a nice experiment ! I don't really think it fit the theme that much, but the game is pretty clean !

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate it :)

Really fun experiment with more to it than you'd think! I spent more time than I thought I would navigating through different colored patterns.

Developer

Awesome. I'm glad to hear! Thank you for playing!

I'm currently strolling around outside thinking up ways to make it more of a fleshed out mini world :)

As One "first submitter" to the other :)

Great game mate! nice visuals and overall feel!

Developer

First timer high five! :D

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! Have a fab day x

Nice first submission, did manage to get out of the tiling and turn dark for a time which was surprising. Also, I thought the yellow trails scattered around the level would be collectable or be interactable in some ways since walls do. Maybe they could speed you along or something. Good continuation.

Developer(+1)

Oh good, yeah there are 8 different themes you can find in the world!

You know those yellow trails are actually called 'powerups' in the code, because I thought exactly the same as you did! Just couldn't figure out a way in time to record things that have been picked up and still keep the procedural generation intact.

Thank you for trying out my game and for the kind feedback! :)

This game is so pleasing. I have no idea how you come up with stuff like this.

Developer

Aw wow, what a kind comment! Thank you so much! :)

Honestly the ideas came quite naturally after experimenting with applying the noise algorithm to different game parameters.

Look up simplex / perlin noise, it's really cool stuff.

Developer

I'll check your game out when I get back to my pc!

Nice visual style

Developer

Thank you boshamo!

Really liked the feel of the game, although some kind of objective would have been good

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah an objective is coming in version 2.0 ;) hehe

Submitted

I'll keep an eye on it and check it out when it's ready

Pretty fun game even if I don't really know my purpose

-The sounds are pretty loud

-And again i dont know what's my purpose

But for a first experience that's a nice game

For 2 days that's some amazing work

Ggs

Can you rate my game please? Thanks :P

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the great feedback! Ah yeah I hadn't thought about the overall sound volume, I'll keep that in mind! I'll definitely think about how to add purpose in future similar games, that was a tricky one in 48hrs! I hope you enjoy playing more jam games! Peace out.
