How does your game fit the theme?
The centrepiece of the game is the double pendulum, an incredibly erratic and unpredictable structure that swings wildly and out of control. The double pendulum has no predictible movements, instead you have to accept your lack of control of its motion and to embrace its chaos to survive.

This game was a ton of fun, I loved the unique concept and the absolute panic inducing stress of running around that tiny room in a desperate attempt to escape the pendulum's grasp! I did managed to get down to eight seconds in one playthrough (spammed x so I have no photographic evidence), and I am very curious if anyone was able to survive for 60 seconds. Regardless, definitely one of the stand out games of the jam for me, and easily a personal favorite!! Great job.

Very nice idea and very challenging! Didn't survive even by mistake. It's definitely in the theme of the jam, but for the future I would reduce difficulty a bit or it will just frustrating after a while.

very fun little game! i think you should punish hugging the walls more, one time i got full 60 seconds just by hugging the left wall. also, once the pendulum speeds up past a certain point, its movement becomes too predictable. i found that the first 30 seconds were much harder than the last 30 seconds. overall though, this is a superbly creative game and perfectly executed. great job :)

A really difficult game, I never managed to last the full 60 seconds but I got a pretty high score from hugging the edges and avoiding the centre at all costs.

Game was super fun and polished. The death really has a lot of juice, and I enjoyed playing it, it was bit difficult for me though. Really good job!

The idea is super cool! Took me awhile to figure out the controls even with the control menu haha.  Once I did it was fun trying to dodge the circles.  If you keep working on it, perhaps have the first level be easier with the pendulum swinging super slow XD. Still, congrats on submitting a cool platforming/dodging game to the jam! Please check out mine if you haven't :D

This was really addictive. I love games which are simple but have such a unique mechanic. I suppose the randomness of the pendelum can be a little frustrating at times. Still, the game just makes me want to replay it again and again. Could you upload a windows build after the jam ? I'd like to play this when I'm offline.

really fun game! small and repetitive, but really nice simple game mechanic :)

No waaay, can't get past 20s. Clever thinking of a double pendulum for out of control though, as an intrinsically chaotic system.

Fun unpredictable mechanic. The double pendulum makes the game really unfair but because the rounds tend to be so short it doesn't become very frustrating. The artstyle is charming (thanks pico8 limitations :) ).

Really nice hardcore game, I feel like the pendulum could have given a bit more feedback to where it was going to swing next since a lot of the deaths did feel unfair. However, overall I really enjoyed playing the game and the movements felt really smooth and responsive, good job!

I love the use of the chaos theory of a gamejam game, super cool and creative take on the theme. It's simple and works really well, Good job !

I survived!! (That's my achievement for the day)

Nice but unforgiving game :) And I'm pretty sure that's not a real double pendulum…

I assure you it is!

Ok, I believe you :D

Really cool game ! I love what you made with pico-8 ! I really like the games made with this engine and you made good use of it !

Great execution of a simple concept. Love the death screen and the lil guy's face as he jumps around.

Wonderfully polished lil gem, well done!

cool little game.  I definitely have enjoyed games where there was an important element out of control over bad controls.  Well done!

Neat little game! I noticed it would barely hit me if I stayed in the bottom area, but maybe I was just lucky :)

simple and fun little game

This was quite brutal, I like it. Though I would make the points in fixed place, not randomize them I think...

Great Job!

I think the game could've taken the theme in a better way but this is also cool!

Developer

Thanks! I know it's a bit lacking in theme (Boil it down and it's a platformer). Thanks for playing it!
