Really nice game and the concept is solid

Developer

Thank you very much :)

Did you manage to beat all four levels?

Submitted(+1)

No it was a cool game though it gave me the feel of something Nintendo would make.

Submitted(+1)

Cool puzzle game! It was fun trying to not break the pots or tables etc.  Took me awhile to figure out I had to shoot the button in the first room haha. The sprite art was cool too.  Congrats on submitting a cool puzzle game to the jam! Please check out mine if you haven't :D

Developer

Yes, I think that first button needs to be on the right side of that room so people are more likely to accidentally hit it. Hopefully you weren't stuck there for too long :)

Fun game,
I like how easy it is to get into it,
and that is is played like a top down shooter, while also being some kind of puzzle game.

A background music would have been nice,
just having the sound of the gun gets numb after some time.

And I've already read about having the gun snap to certain degrees,
would be a great idea, because having to hold the button until you have the right angle can take a while.

Other than that, great game and good fit into the jam

Developer

I agree, music would be a lovely addition. One day I shall add music and aim snapping... and maybe even some more levels :D

Good job! The graphics were really nice and the gameplay with the puzzles was amazing. Well done! :D

Developer

Thank you very much

Thanks for making it! If you want you can try https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2020/rate/699090

Very nice concept! I really liked the game!

For the suggestion part, I think art could be improved but it is still good anyways.. and maybe, you can try making the aim snap to 15 degrees or something.

The game is very challenging and I like that!

Developer(+1)

good call on the aim!

I am not sure of the exact rotational speed, but it probably isn't a sensible number. Something like 15degrees would make a lot of sense. I will make note for when I come back to this game :)

The art isn't great, but if you look at my old games I'm sure you'll agree the improvement is substantial xD

Submitted(+1)

I just checked one of your other game and yeah, The art has improved :)

Really clever puzzle design idea. I got stuck in a door but I enjoyed it. Congrats!

Developer

ah, congratulations lucky game tester number 2!

I worried people would get stuck in those doors and eventually deemed it impossible, but now you are the second person to have this problem. I hope it did not ruin your experience. It will be fixed once he jam is over :)

(+1)

It's all fine, don't worry!

Submitted(+1)

Good level design, you could make this a mobile game and release it!

Developer(+1)

That would be incredible, but unfortunately I know next to nothing about the process of releasing a game.

Plus, I think this game needs a lot more polish :)

But thank you I'm glad you liked it ^_^

I like that the bullets have multiple purposes (switching buttons and destroying vases). Though, the game can be quite difficult. I made it close to the end of level 4. When I compare the levels; level 1 and 2 are on point, level 3 gets a bit more difficult (good) and level 4 gets way longer and more tedious (not good).

Developer

well I hope level 4 hasn't brought the rating too much :)

Glad you enjoyed the earlier levels. If I ever go back to this game, I imagine "level 4" will end up being more like level 10. Some easier levels leading up to it.

I don't think it does a good enough job of slowly teaching the orange/blue button mechanic in that level at the moment

Submitted(+1)

Do you mean that the blue and the orange doors were linked and either the blue or orange ones are active? I did notice that some buttons were toggle on switches, while others were push buttons.

Developer

Yeah, activating blue deactivated orange and visa versa.

There were plans to do more with it than just doors. Conveyor belt with blue/orange corrections for example.

Submitted(+2)

Took awhile to get used to controlling the bullets - but I really like this idea!

Submitted(+2)

I really liked this idea! It was difficult to break the glasses if you stopped paying attention for the tiniest bit, very fun

Submitted(+1)

I like it, nice puzzler. The only thing I would've fixed like in many games with such steering - let it to speed up. Maybe with acceleration or a button?

Developer

Yeah, I'm consdering adding an extra character (or tmaybe a few characters).

I think adding a more fast paced chaotic character would fit the play styles of some people better.

Submitted

Hm, I mean the controls are fine, and speed too, its just that the rotating of a gun is a bit slow sometimes. Please remember that faster rotation = less control, so I'm not so sure about another character...

Neat, original concept! Puzzle games generally aren't my style but I found myself enjoying this one quite a bit. Aesthetics are minimal, but quite pleasing, which isn't too easy to pull off! The sound effects are satisfying as well. The setting and flavour of the game are really well done! The controls were also very intuitive. I didn't figure out a control on the keyboard to press "start", though, which made me have to take my hand off my keyboard to click it with my mouse.

Developer

Yes, that is a good point. Linking the enter key to the start buttons probably would have helped :)
I'll have a look into tweaking that if I ever come back to this :)
Glad you enjoyed the game ^_^
Did you manage to finish all 4 levels?

Submitted(+1)

Didn't manage to get to every level, I think I got to level 3? It was a bit too easy to mess up, but I didn't feel like that was the game's fault - more me being clumsy!

Submitted(+2)

it's challenging but surprisingly fun, though I wish there's option to zoom out the screen for evaluation. It's scary to explore a new area and then *crack* sound effect play hahaha

Developer

I noticed that issue during testing, so I havetried to avoid scenarios where you need to shoot into the unknown, it is always possible to sount by turning to face a nearby wall and there are some strategically placed walls to make long hallways less scary :)

Glad you enjoyed the soun effect. That is my smashing wine bottles and coffee jars togethor in our glass bin :D

Submitted(+2)

I was disappointed that it seemed so easy at first, but the levels got harder and my fears were relieved. Good mechanics and overall a good little game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks :)

(+2)

Good little game. Gun mechanics seemed odd to me, but immediately made sense once i got in. Neat little puzzle designs and the character is fun too. Nice Game! :D

Developer

Thanks. I wanted to use mouse controls, but the ability to do a 180 degree turn in a split second would spoil half the puzzles :)

(+2)

Tbh, i think their fine. its actually kind of nice to be able to set it to one spot and then focus on the movement, rather than worrying your mouse might move slightly and mess up the trajectory.

(+2)

That was fun and challenging!

Developer

Thankyou. Did you manage to finish every level? :)
