Wow I LOVE this game!!  The art and animation and the FEEL are all super slick and the concept and execution are so so so interesting and unique and challenging while also being fun.  Had a blast trying to master this.  A+, one of my favorite games in the jam so far!

Thank you so much! I wish I had put an online highscores into the game so I could see all your times.

This game is sick, I was really surprised at how tight the control scheme is despite being somewhat unusual.

Developer

Thank you! I put a lot of effort into that so it feels nice.

The pixel art is lovely, the effects are great, and it all runs like a charm. The main problem is the lack of settings. The bottom and top parts of the view were obscured by the fact the game was stuck in fullscreen at a set resolution, and there weren't any window size options in the options.ini.

Gameplay works better than the concept might bely, with shooting being satisfying. I do wish there was a health system, or at least a smaller hitbox.

Got up to 64 seconds. Fun game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! You could try Alt+enter to fix resolution, hitbox is your shadow.

That was a really clever a satisfyingly good game. The description I was like "oh I wonder how this is gonna turn out". It actually plays really well. There are a lot of times when you shoot when you want to move.  But that's I guess part of the skill of the game. I got 78 seconds. I might play this again later though.

Developer

Thank you for playing ❤ . Yeah those circling enemies were actually designed around this problem, you should keep the cursor closer to your character and only reach out if you wanna shoot.

Great execution

This was great! I love all the gun upgrades, it was very re-playable. Good work!

A pretty nifty game with a nice style and difficulty curve to it. Wasn't sure how well I'd deal with the controls after reading the description, but you've done it quite nicely! For one, I'm thankful for the generous shooting hitboxes, and I'm definitely thankful for the rapid upgrade system for the gun. Was quite fun to leave a small trail of destruction, even if I only could last about 100 seconds before my brain gave up from Too Much Happening. Nice work! :D

Also, here's a bad fan art:

Awww look at him! Thank you so much! :D

Felt the character should have more life than a 1-hit

Developer

Thank you! These games usually are 1-hit. Have you played Devil daggers? You should try it, lots of fun.

awesome best top down shooter ever in 48 hours

I like when the design consists of the few colors that really blend together nicely. It's just so aesthetically pleasing, and your game absolutely fits this description :)
The twist with the control for a top-down shooter is on point, not just cause it fits the theme, but it's just so interesting and fun idea. Keep up making games, I liked your style!

I loved the mechanic of using your cursor. It was very unique. The pixel art was really cool as well. However I felt the sensitivity for when your mouse is hovering over an enemy isn't too great. Overall this is a really great concept. Maybe add a dodge to one of the mouse buttons but otherwise this is cool :)

Developer

thank you!

When the music starts, you know you're in trouble. But because I became SO GOOD at the game it felt more IN CONTROL than out.. ;D ... Very nice art, polish and the controls are well done. Superior job! Very nice :)

Developer

thank you for your kind words! :D

Developer

Thanks a lot man! :D

Wow this game is so much fun ! Good ramp up in difficulty, risk/reward situtation, a good "just one more time" feeling. So simple but very well executed, that's a good job. And I love the art. Well done !

Developer

thanks a lot! 😃

Hey! I loved that! They only problem I had was that I could see the timer when on the top part of the level... Anyway... I managed a 58 sec highscore!!

Good Luck!

Developer

Hello! Thank you for playing, pressing Alt+Enter would possibly fix that.

This is the most thrilling game I've played yet! Would love to make music for something like this :D

Developer(+1)

thank you! yeah I would love to have more layers of music in-game ♥️

That would be so sick! It’s really inspiring

I like this gameplay mechanic quite a bit! It's sort of like "directing" the game rather than playing it. Cool stuff, nice work!

Beautiful and fun, gave me some nuclear throne vibes and the mechanics work well together (particularly like having to time your reload properly)

Cool aesthetic and fun to play! Gameplay has a neat snowballing effect, it eases you in really nice. Love to see great Gamemaker games on here.
