Personal gem of the game jam. This is a really great game! Managed to clear all the levels, which were mostly on juuuuuuuust the cusp of our ability. Showed this off to a couple friends, too. Great work!

This is great! Solid mechanics, nice pixel art, good tutorial. Really well done!

Wow this is a really solid game! Great job! It follows the theme well, has a geat and polished presentation, engaging puzzles. It can practically be released as a full game as is! I also appreaciate letting us skip levels since a few of the puzzle were pretty tough, skipping them allowed us to see the entire game. A couple minor comments I have would be:

  • The text itself is hard to read. It looks interesting but it made me not want to read it anymore after the first tutorial.
  • Glad there is a reorder system but it would be nice if it could be a little more easier to use, like drag and drop with the mouse.
  • Maybe some sort of tool-tip that mentions how each character will attack even after the tutorial? Not a big issue here but if the game ever got bigger it would be nice to quickly reference what a character, enemy, or object does.

Anyway fanstastic game! Defintely one of the best I've played in the jam so far!

That you for your great return, it's very helpful to make my post-jam version of the game ! The "hard to read text" is a bug that appear with some browser or screen resolution, I'm sorry and it's been fixed in the post-jam version ! Anyway, I'm so glad you liked the game, thank you for your kind comment :)

A surprising jewel in this jam, this has a lot of stages and a lot of polish.

I found myself not having to use every party member, so maybe there can be some type of reward for that?

Excellent job! Got stuck on the last level though. :( Any hints?

Really hope you continue to work on this post-jam! Some QoL-features I'd enjoy:

  • moving a character not only down, but also up in the turn order
  • letting the "play"-button toggle between "play" and "stop"
  • removing a single hero by right-clicking on it
  • direct level selection

The barbarian is clearly the perpendicular line, but the wizard is cleverly needed at the top for the enemy surrounded by pikes and a boulder.

Yeah, that's how far I got as well. But then I couldn't find a way to kill the remaining two enemies. However, I got it now, just had to tweak the order of things a little. :) Thank you for trying to help me out anyway - really appreciate it!

Thank you for your comment, a "Stop" button would be a great improvement, I'll think about that ! Your other suggestions are great to and I will see what I can do for a post-jam version. I'm so happy you liked the game :) (Tip for the last level: as swagshaw said, you can use the wizard to kill the enemy surrounded by pikes and the barbarian to kill all enemies in line, remember that order is super important !)

Great art and gameplay. The whole presentation is polished. It is a fun puzzle game. Very impressive for a 48-hour game jam. Not to tell you what to do, but I feel like you should work some more on this when the jam is over. Great game :D

Wow, that was impressive. I did have an issue with the game not loading in Chrome, but it worked fine in incognito mode. I found most of the later levels to be quite challenging. Though, I did manage to beat all of them. The two levels before the introduction of the barbarian stood out in particular.

My main request would be a tooltip to be able to get basic info regarding a hero or enemy. A standalone build in Windows would be great as well. That way I can save it in my folder containing awesome games.

A standalone build with some fixes is already done and will be add to the page after the rating delay of the jam ! Thank you for your return and your nice comment :)

Neat idea and a good level of polish. Great work!

Great puzzle, I would play a full version on mobile easily (or even a full game with more content), great job

Excellent design.  Well made.

This is an amazing jam game! Definitely felt like a polished mechanic that was easy to learn and created a lot of design space to explore. I think this could be turned into a full game if you wanted. I got some good Into the Breach vibes with this. Well done :)

If you have time, please check out the game I worked on for the jam, thanks!

Really great puzzle game with a good variety of mechanics and good polish and detail! I especially liked how the different characters had interactions with each other and you managed to put in a lot of levels! The graphics were also simple and made the puzzles very readable. The only suggestion I have there would be to make the skeletons a lighter shade (or even just white) so that it's easier to distinguish them from orcs.

Some of the levels were a bit less "tight" than they could have been, presumably because there wasn't that much time during the jam to check all the levels. Here's a couple levels with solutions that use fewer characters than given:

One other minor thing that was probably just me: I thought the paladin was invincible and tried pushing them onto some spikes and was a bit surprised when they died as a result.

What an interesting comment, thank you ! The solutions you posted was not the intended solutions, this is my big regret with my submission. Many levels would have required some testing to check and prevent other solutions. I like multiple solutions to my puzzle but like you said some solutions are easy and do not use the intended mechanics. But 48h is a short time ! Anyway thank you for your kind message, I'm glad you liked the game :)

Solid game. love the color palette, and the pacing.

This is a really cool puzzle game. It was a little tough to differentiate between the characters at first, maybe putting a label underneath them on the bottom of the screen would be helpful. But once I got the hang of it, it was a super fun puzzler! Nice!

Love the aesthetic and the mechanics great work!

Awesome submission, I really enjoyed this one! Great work bending fairly simple mechanics into a nice puzzle.

Still offers quite a fine level of control I'd say, but the puzzle design is great. Nice work!
