Simple and fun, this game asks you to make split second decisions where mistakes compound on mistakes and your little town sprawl spirals out of control.  There's a nice cohesion to the art and the mechanics that make this a really enjoyable experience.

Very different from the usual~ and I think it fits the theme really well! loved it!

Really reminds me of 2048. I really like that you added in both a challenge mode and zen mode. Can just watch the city grow on its own for funsies in zen mode while actually trying hard in challenge mode. I only tried playing Zen mode first but probably like challenge mode was meant to be played but I can just tell from that alone that challenge mode is definitely going to get really hectic!

Haven't come across any other games like this so far for this game jam - really enjoyed! Really like the music too

Submitted(+3)

This was a lot of fun to play! I enjoy the kinda calm music, the visuals and the game was calm but fun! I would definitely play this sort of game on mobile

Submitted(+3)

Neat game this would work well as a mobile game for sure and I'm always a fan of isometric style

Great graphics! I included it in my GMTK Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Thanks for playing!

The goal in challenge mode is to stop the city growing into any of the edge tiles. The pace picks up a lot after a few minutes as the game has exponential growth!

You can also zoom out into a top-down view, to help you select buildings behind the taller ones.

Good luck on your quest to play every game!

Thanks for submitting your game to the stream, I really enjoyed playing it. I love multitasking games and honestly would play this all the time if there was a mobile version. The game looks and feels great, sounds great and plays great. There is a lot of cool buildings, and I am sure I didn't even get to see them all.

Just a fantastic entry overall!

Aaaaah so cool, and calm! Love the music and calmness of the game! got 3304 score ^^
The only thing I didn't quite understand was the loose condition of the game and how exactly to prevent myself from loosing which makes it a cool experience, but something I'd find it hard to actually get better at currently. But great job, congrats on the submission <3

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback!

You lose in challenge mode when a building spawns in the blue zone. So you need to control the cities sprawl and try to stop it spreading out of bounds!

This is a cute modern version of those merge magic and dragons games I keep getting ads for. I could definitely see this turning into a full mobile game. Great job!

Submitted(+3)

This is definitely my favorite game of the jam so far. I love how you start out by just messing around, then you start making plans to efficiently get buildings combined, but just as you got good at that you suddenly start getting interrupted by the passive growth all the time and you have to change your plans. Before you know it, you are desperately trying to keep the buildings away from the sea, but you have completely lost control at that point.

I love how the loss of control isn't artificial in any way (like in some of the submissions), but rather a natural consequence the mechanics!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing! I'm glad the intentions of the game came through well. We've enjoyed watching people be really chill playing the start then suddenly start panicking as soon as it all kicks off! I think we were also really keen to look at how we can approach the theme in a different way and are glad that we found something unique!

Submitted(+3)

Really cool! I like how you can be a bit strategic about which ones to merge to get an even bigger merge later, really felt like it was getting out of control too! Ended up playing for quite a while, great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! it's been quite interesting to see everyone's strategies to try and get the best score.

Got a very satisfying 2048 vibe from this game. At first, I started consolidating buildings to strategically set them up next to others, but I realize that isn’t necessary because you can move them around freely. Might be an interesting angle to try if you plan on developing the game further. Overall, loved it. Great job!

Developer(+2)

Thank you, we are definitely looking to bring it to mobile with some additional features and polish in the near future - glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+3)

Very good game! At first I wasn't getting why it was out of control, but it totally is. Reminds me of Threes. On that note, I wish it had a smaller board and some goals, maybe with puzzly elements. Still, the core concept is very sound and I like it a lot.

Developer(+2)

Thank you! Smaller board with different goals is a great idea. Hopefully we can add more to the game in the future.

Submitted(+3)

Although the concept isn't that unique, you managed to create very fun gameplay and a nice aesthetic style. Great job!

Submitted(+2)

I really enjoyed the concept of building everything up as high as it can go. This is the only game like this that I have seen in this entire jam, so good work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! We definitely tried to take a different approach to the theme so glad that you found it unique!

I think this game could be improved if you had a target score per level and limited space, instead of just infinite and if you could click the tiles instead of the sprites, as the tall buildings obstructed everything behind them

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!

The challenge mode does have limited space (if the buildings reach the edge you lose). So far noone has got any where close to the maximum score there!

You can get around the tall buildings obstructing the view by zooming out into a top-down view. But there is definitely more to improve here that we'll be working on next!
