How does your game fit the theme?
Sometimes; you can't control your feelings. There are things you have to do, but you can't? Not that you don't want to, you just can't.

Yes

We created all art during the game jam

Did your team create the audio for this game during the 48 hour time slot?

creative concept, lovely art and music. Solid writing.  but next time ask permission before yo make a game about my life :P

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! And sorry I didn’t know I had a doppelganger; we’ll politely ask before releasing the final game! :D

It seems like the rest of the comments have pretty much summed up my feelings on this game, as well. The art is quite wonderful, but not much in terms of gameplay. But I'm really glad to hear you're in a better place right now! The tone of this game really hit something personal in me, because I have totally been in that spot before (and every now and again :\ ). The juxtaposition of taking out the trash as the main goal, when most video game goals are epic in scale, says quite a lot, and I hope your players got that!

If/when you do pursue this game, I'd love to see more environmental storytelling details!

Developer

Thank you! We definitely plan on pursuing the game and telling a complete story with it. It’s our first game so it will take the time it needs, but we’re excited ourselves to expand the world and the character (though the “world” will most likely not expand beyond the confines of the apartment). We’ll work on the puzzle aspect of the game too!

Not really much of a game but a display of what it can be, but still, I liked the atmosphere and the design, I hope you expand on it after the jam!

Developer

Thanks! We may have mismanaged our time a bit and spent a bit too much on the art rather than the playability. It’s our first jam anyway so the next one will be better!

We are definitely excited to work more on the game as well, this is a project we both cherish and is the backbone of the message we want to share.

The art really suits the story, but what bothers me is, are you ok?

Developer

We’re definitely in a better place now; this game is a reflection into our past when things weren’t going as well as they are now. In a way, making this game helped us finalizing the progress of growing over that time.

Art looks great, I really like the real time lighting effects. The game itself could have used more puzzle elements to make it more interesting. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! As this was our first game jam we may have underestimated the importance of time management. We’re proud of the art but maybe we took too long with that, at the expense of playability. The next gamejam will be better!

Fantastic atmosphere, I really dig the art style and the writing, However, I'd been looking for that key for ages if not the comments here :)

Thanks for the comment and the kind words! Maybe we’ve hidden it a bit too well, though it is technically in plain sight :>

Can confirm this is what being 19 feels like. Great game, really. It communicates the feeling really well.

I wish I could say I wasn’t drawing from experience. Thanks for the kind words!

That was some GOOD atmosphere! I liked the dreary lighting, and the all ambiance. The TV in particular was really well done. I liked that it kept changing colors and playing different audio clips.

I liked your writing. I'm glad you made the extra effort to write multiple pieces of text for each item. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do in 2021 with part 2!

Developer

Thank you so much! I may have spent too much time on soundscaping as my artistic background is in music, and that might have eaten too much time of the allowed 48 hours; but really we wanted to communicate a feeling, make a statement, at the risk of ending up with more of an interactive art installation at the expense of it being a full game.

We’re also looking forward to continuing this adventure of making the game!

That made me feel so weird. I could sense the desperation when I kept clicking and didn't want to do anything. Didn't know I needed a key so it took me a while xd

Glad you took the time to explore and enjoyed the experience and that we suceeded in transmitting the feelings we wanted to communicate!

Nice idea, I understand the feeling after containment ;) I like the art and enjoyed reading the guy's feelings. Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the game! :D
