The concept here is great. I don't think I've seen joining dashes for combos in the jam or elsewhere, so props for that. I didn't really have that much fun with it though, sadly, since I kept running into trouble with hits on enemies sometimes not registering. The fact that the score completely resets when you die - even after touching a checkpoint - also really soured it for me.
Still, the game was good - The stylized graphics are very charming - I think the mechanics need some polish.
Definitely, I regret spending a lot of time on the dash itself and not enough time on the game feel or scoring system. Thanks for your feedback!
This game is incredible!
I like the art a lot, great color choice! Not so much of a fan about the SFX and gameplay, that dash sound is way to high of a frequency, gave me a headache. It was also way too easy to dash past enemies, there needs to be a barrier that doesn't allow you to pass unless you destroy all the enemies (or something like that). I also wish there was a better explanation of what each dash did, and possibly some better visual feedback with the checkpoints because I had no idea what those did until my first death.
The dashing is really fun, but I did have some issues with hitreg, as I had multiple cases when dashing through enemies didn't deal any damage to them. But the overall concept is really good, art style is minimalistic but fits really well, and gameplay is pretty fun. I can't seem to get to fullscreen though, even after clicking the fullscreen button, the gameplay area is still centered and is not filling the screen (and I keep clicking outside of the game window)
To enable fullscreen you have to click itch.io's fullscreen button and then the blue one which is part of the Unity template iirc. And I do agree that the enemy hitboxes could be more generous for the player, all of them fit around the enemy shape but a larger area could make for a smoother experience. Thanks for playing!
Fun Fun Fun!!! Enjoy the art style a whole lot, and the dashing really was just "fun" to do, no other way to put it. Had a good time trying to combo it up for a while. Not too sure about the link with the theme, but it was a good time regardless. Great job!!
Very nice graphics and feel to the game, a bit easy since you can just dash past all the enemies, but the dahsing mechanic feelt good so it was still fun! :)
I was considering adding a gate before each checkpoint as a possible "score check" so that the player must reach a certain score before progressing (or retrying if they didn't meet the threshold) but sadly I didn't have the time to implement that, so I left it as a very open map where the player could tackle challenges however they wanted. Thanks for playing!
Nice work! I really liked the pixel art and the dash mechanic was well-implemented. I was a bit unclear on what to do at first, but after a bit of experimentation with the controls I got it.
Love the game concept, great job!

Love how fast-paced this felt at times! The pitch of your dash changes depending on your combo and the simple style of the game are both great! The only thing is that the sound of dashing can get a little annoying after a while though. Overall, really fun game and a cool interpretation of the theme!
