That's a fun ball and chain mechanic! :D

Developer

Thanks!

That was fun, and stiky ball gave me some kind of spider-man feeling!
Of course there are lots of troubles with character control and camera, but I think the concept is great.
Maby the ability to pull up to the ball could help with movement and soft-locks?

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you had fun and got to feel like Spider-Man. :) I was considering adding an ability to pull up the ball, but I didn't end up having enough time. Game jams, am I right? ;)

Hey mate. Some feedback:

- In my first attempt in the beginning, I did not feel sure whether I was actually walking, since I was too slow.

- I literally got soft-locked on the first obstacle and there is no way to restart to some kind of  checkpoint:

- Then I also got soft-locked here:

Why can't I throw the ball to the right? I don't believe it is possible to beat the game without doing so... so yeah I couldn't beat your game mate. Sorry.

Developer

Wow, thanks for the detailed feedback! The softlocks probably could have been avoided with a bit more playtesting on my part, but that's game jams! :/ You're actually supposed to fall into the pit and find an upgrade to make your way out, so I guess you played a bit TOO well! :)

If you made the movement less janky, had the camera a bit more zoomed out, had someone making better art, this could be one of my favorite games. The movement mechanic is really fun in concept, though I guess it must have been hard to program because in practice it falls a bit short. I would love it if you took this and made it better and bigger in scope. If you don't wanna do that can I have this idea?

Edit: Also the game was overall fun, the music fit well, the jetpack was nice too.  Good game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! If only I had another day, or two... or thirty. ;) I'd love to see what you decide to do with the idea, so go ahead! :D

I really like the concept of your game. The mechanic was really fun at the start. However it got quite frustrating when the ball got sticky and you had to climb up walls. Still well done.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Sorry you were frustrated... :/

Fun game! Did not see the jetpack coming :p

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you were surprised :)

Nice concept fun little game. The physics need to be more reliable but otherwise very nice!

Developer

Thanks! That's Unity for you... ;)

O really like this game - well done

Thanks!

Amazing! I had to check your game out because our first idea was also for a prisoner to break out with the ball attached to him and use it somehow, but we went for something else haha. Really good job, the throwing / jumping didn't always work how I wanted it to, but I managed to escape. Good work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I guess great minds think alike... ;)

This was really fun! The ball mechanic is really cool, and while sometimes the controls are a bit slow it feels good overall. Great game!!! Keep it up :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The controls may be slow, but that just makes them more fun to master! :)

Definitely, great fun game! Congrats on submitting

lol I was not expecting a jetpack.

Great work!

You never know what you could find in video games! :)

I like the sticky ball mechanic! (can't believe i just said that)

Developer

Thanks! But that’s kinda sus…

I agree with others, the controls were frustrating at first but I got a bit used to them and they were satisfying at times. The inner dialogue was nice but a bit big. The paint part/idea was great and was my favorite and I really enjoyed it. Really well done!

Developer

Thanks! I wanted to make the dialogue pretty big so everyone could read it on any screen, but it may have gotten a bit out of hand. I had fun making the paint part, so I’m glad you liked it! :D

I liked the music and his little "huyah" sound lol...

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I made the sound effects myself. :)

That’s awesome! 👏

Good use of the theme- although I feel a game with a mechanic like this requires really spot-on swinging/"grapple" physics, and at least for me I quickly ended up getting stuck on a platform with poor Dully hanging below and I couldn't figure out how to get back up. I was able to beat the game after restarting though (who keeps a [spoilers] in a prison where anyone could grab it?) and I did really like it. Good on you for completing a full metroidvania with 3 (or more?) upgrades. The art and sound were cute, as was Dully's thought process. Him and I both thought "Nah!" at the same time. I also really liked the maps on the wall with the X for "you are here". Well done!

Oh, and I loved the guards *aggressively* sleeping in their chairs. A very nice touch.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I agree I could have worked on the grapple physics a little bit more. I contemplated adding a restart button, and I guess I should have! :/ I'm glad you were able to beat it, though. I had a lot of fun making Dully's thoughts and other touches like that. :D

Difficult to controll but really fitting for the theme. Really love the paint.

Developer

Thank you! I agree that the controls are a bit tough to use, but that just makes them more satisfying to master! I also love the paint. :)
