How does your game fit the theme?
You are a bee with a magic stinger that can shoot lasers, but only when your stinger is attached. When you get hurt, you lose your stinger, and need to pick it back up. In this state, you cannot fire, and if you get hurt again, it's game over. Basically, you cannot fire unless you are "joined together" with your stinger.

Nice and simple game, if you would accept my advice, try reading up on steering behaviors for your enemy movement! Would definitely make the game feel a whole lot more dynamic :)

The stinger bomb should have been balanced a little bit more because there is nearly no point in using it now since it would mean losing anyway. Otherwise really liked the idea.

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at. The point of the bomb is to make retrieving your stinger easier by removing all obstacles. If you're talking about how the stinger itself is unbalanced, then I agree. I've thought of many ways to fix it, if I eventually decide to make a post jam version of the game. I'm glad you liked the game!

art is not the best, but otherwise pretty fun

Nice game! Shots could be spaced out slightly and in turn deal slightly more damage.

Thanks! If I make a sequel, I'll add different weapon types, and that could be a good idea for a weapon.

Really nice game with a good execution. It's hard to feel the theme in it though - I understand that you're "joined to your stinger", but losing the stinger essentially means losing most of the time anyway. It might be better if the gameplay without stinger was more accessible.

Glad you liked it! You're right about the stinger; it's extremely flawed. The reason you die so quickly is because I didn't want players to be able to pick up the stinger as soon as they lost it. If I make a sequel, I would make it so you have to wait a certain amount of time before you can pick your stinger back up, which would allow for more invincibility frames.

Very nice! It's pretty tricky, seems whenever I got hit once I pretty much got hit again so didn't really have much of a life without the stinger. Though maybe I'm just not very good at it either! Nice concept though, I liked the story and the thought of being the last good bug left alive. Good work on this!

Yeah I agree. I feel like I should have made it so you can only pick up the stinger after a certain amount of time, so that you can have more invincibility frames after getting hit. The reason you have so few invincibility frames is because I wanted to prevent players from picking up the stinger as soon as they lost it.

it's interesting, but consider using  different music, the loop is so short it gets tiring

This was neat, but sometimes the lost stinger would be outside the camera which was annoying.

You're right; I would have made it so that the spawn position of the stinger is determined by your location, but I ran out of time. If that happens, just go really far from the stinger and it should come back on screen.
