Glitchy, but I loved it. With some cleanup, polish, and more levels this would be absolutely amazing. The physics of moving portals definitely needs to be reworked, it was just so slow cause the character would get bumped away. And the duplication mechanic was tricky cause too many clones was causing a loop and then I'd arbitrarily lose the level.
10/10
Thank you very much!
Cool entry. The doubling is pretty smart, and I like the visual style.
The physics can get a bit janky at times, I’ve knocked portals through floors and had teleportations that didn’t launch me out completely so it just goes in a loop.
That issue aside there’s a seller in here.
Thanks! I think the problems with physics are because the game is running too fast or too slow.
Awesome art style! Cool and challenging levels, maybe even a bit too much, haha, I got stuck on C+. I think it’s a good idea to include the
.pck
file with each executable next time, I’m sure Itch.io has enough space on its servers. ;-)Fun little platformer) The only problem - a 3-clones limit, that became absolutely infuriating on c+) Maybe deleting clones would be better mechanic, than just resetting)
I was able to finish the whole game and really enjoyed it! The other comments had me worried, but it all really was possible! (though I think I might have 'cheated' for B+, i just jumped over the teleporter completely haha. And yeah it seemed like there was a limit of 3 clones? I don't know if that was intended or not?
But apart form that, this was a great game! I loved that you let the player just infinitely get smaller!!! I swear I got Antman-quantum-level small at one point ahahaha. And the clones were really fun! I enjoyed some of the later level design too! Very tricky!
The music, art and animation was great too! Good job!!!
Oh! And for anyone else playing, I don't know if you have to, but I downloaded all 3 of the linked files for the game to work!
Thank you! Yes, the 3-clone limit was intended, because the clones could multiply too much and lag if you don't stop it early. I also thought about deleting clones if there are too much of them, but, sadly, I don't know how to decide what clone to delete.
it doesn't want to launch. :(
getting the following error: "couldn'tload project data at path"
You need to download the
.pck
file and place it alongside the executable. It was pretty good. The final 4 levels (except the final one) were brutally hard, though. The mechanic where you become 2 when coming out of 2 teleporters was fun, but when you go through again, the game resets, thinking that's too much clones. That caused a lot of frustration in the last actual level, and it took me at least 20 tries to beat it. Also, you couldn't decide if you wanted to name it Telestick Portman or Telestick Manport? 6/10
There was also a level that had different colors of portals: like the blue ones teleport you into the other blues, green ones into the other greens, and so on, but I didn't post it because it was the only one level like that; also I tried making changing colors (connecting and disconnecting) portals, but I hadn't enough time for it.
I couldn't beat the later levels, starting from B+ (I think). Good thing you can still click on the level tiles and play later levels, but those were also kinda buggy TBH - multiple teleporters were spawning hordes of clones and the game decided arbitrarily that that is too much - I got the one you need to stack 2 of you, but the next one was impossible to me.
Other that that - awesome work, cool mechanics and also looks good!
Thanks! Sorry, I made those levels in the very end of the jam, so they weren't fully done.
