I loved playing your game, such a cool take on the concept. The physics took a bit to pick up so I found myself occasionally at a stand still. I am also slight sad I was never able to master a solid spidey trebuchet. Definitely see the potential! 

I enjoyed this! Momentum-based action is always fun, and the swing-and-release has a nice Spider-Man vibe, which seems blatantly intentional given the title and theme, haha. It was quite satisfying to swing around the levels as gracefully and quickly as possible (right-click all the way!), and I really wanted to focus on that; maybe this is well-suited for speedrunning? Less satisfying was trying to push the flies into the web—I felt like I couldn't quite get the hang of what motion was necessary there, and would appreciate more focused level design to teach that application of the mechanic. But overall I had a great time and played this longer than I meant to. And the hand-drawn signage is super-charming. Nice work!

Glad you enjoyed the swinging mechanics, we definitely put a lot (maybe too much) time into that. Unfortunately, I wasn't really sold with our core gameplay objective: it was kind of thought of after implementing the swinging around. I'm kind of with you on the whole speedrunning aspect of the game. Making a platformer that you can absolutely zoom through would be quite fun I think.

Also, I'm glad you enjoyed my little scribbles for the tutorial lol.

Swinging turned out to be very enjoyable! Once you learn the physics, finding ways to build up momentum for max force or distance becomes a satisfying challenge. Excellent theming and polish as well; all-together it feels like a full, complete game!

My feedback isn't different from what's below: I also felt myself needing to calibrate my aim to account for the shifting camera, which unless you're on the ground always has at least a little bit of movement.

That was fun! Launching yourself across the room and dunking the flies into the web was really satisfying. Well done!

Love the way you made the tutorial level and the art is awesome. Level 2 was pretty hard haha. Thie game is almost finished.  Art, music, gameplay... everything is so perfect

Slingshotting yourself was undoubtedly fun in here. Physics controls are usually clunky (I got PTSD from my own game, lmao), but you managed to make them cool here, congratulations! I really enjoyed jumping across the levels, but I think the camera was a bit lacking, as we couldn't see much further ahead. Perhaps zooming out and putting a range to where you could click? Still, very good game overall. I even did found the old spider design hidden in the last playground, just because I really had fun slinging around. Great job!

I'm glad you had fun slinging around! And yeah, honestly, by the end of the jam, I wasn't really sold on the 16:9 ratio myself anymore (it led to a wider screen but not being able to see well up or down), but by that point I had already hardcoded (yuck) the UI and HUD because I couldn't get scalable UI to work for the life of me in those 48 hours. The slinging mechanic does seem to be a popular feature though, perhaps either better designed levels and environments should be in order, or perhaps the swinging could be repurposed for a different game entirely. It's worth looking more into, at least from what I gather from the comments here.

Really liked everything about your game and I had a blast playing it. Some things I would suggest would be having a static camera so it's easier to click on things (however if you were to implement this you should also implement a maximum range for the spider to attach to), and also maybe more obstacles in the air that the spider needs to avoid.

Camera seems to be a common theme that I'm seeing people having problems with. I'll definitely work more on that next time!

I found the basic mechanics very interesting and fun. However, the camera sometimes makes your life harder to pass levels. Putting camera to a fixed location would probably make it better for both level designers and also for the players.

The gameplay was really solid with little to no hiccups. Almost got nostalgia from an old ps2 spiderman games with the swinging mechanic xD. Music fit nicely along with the simplistic graphics, great job!

Cool idea! I think the concept of the game was to have you push the flies around to get them into your web, but there's a way better strategy, which is to just hook all the flies with your string and then drag them all into your web at once. I was able to finish the 4-fly level in 5 seconds that way, but it's pretty boring. I also would have really liked to move the mouse to cut the strings instead of having to click the pegs, which would have helped it feel a bit more dynamic I think. I liked the art though, and the concept for the game and the levels were pretty interesting!

Yeah, the pull strat ended up working way better in that level. I even cheesed it myself after publishing the game, but oh well. I think overall, some forces balancing and just overall redesigning of levels would benefit the game more. This game feels more of a proof of concept of the string mechanic moreso than a full experience. I like the idea of using a swipe to cut string: it would make the game work better on a mobile device too, if that was a route we wanted to go down.

I wish the game had a static camera and smaller rooms, so it would be easy to click the pegs even while youre moving

I like that the music makes me feel like a cute spider instead of a spooky scary spider. This game was fun! I'm so close to the web in the 2nd level, but I can't quite make it there. A fun concept to expand upon for sure.

Glad to hear you liked the music and the concept! Personally, I think some more time would have definitely helped balance forces a bit more. But hey, if any of the levels are causing a headache, there is always the level select, hehe.

Good work on making this mechanic fit really well with the theme! Joining strings such as this is really clever! I also admire how you've made this game focused only on the mouse, no complex keys or anything, just aiming and selecting!

However, I must agree with the others - On the second stage, I just can't get the flies past to the cobweb. I try to get some momentum but the flies feel heavier than they should.

I appreciate your thoughts! I agree with your concerns too: I feel like during this jam, not enough time went into balancing forces properly. If this game gets a post-jam version, some lighter flies would definitely be in order, as well as just overall rebalancing of things. Glad you found the mouse-only controls easy to grasp -- that was definitely something we were aiming for.

The mecanics to score with the fly was a bit frustrating at the start, until my brain remember me you explain that it is easier if I push them, I think it would have took me a long time to get it by myself xD

Nice to hear you made it to the end (and found that little secret hiding, hehe). As for pushing versus pulling the flies, during testing, we found that it is possible to beat each level by just pulling the flies, but its a struggle. And I appreciate the feedback on being a bit repetitive: I'll keep that in mind when designing levels and environments going forward!
