Interesting idea! I loved the idea of being a goat and jumping. Art and sounds fitting well... Also presentation is good. It's really good to have another game before this game. Maybe gameplay can be improve. Good Job!

Really cool concept! Nicely executed and everything fit well together ^^

I really enjoyed this idea and the gameplay. Also the little dialogue was fun! Both the characters are hilarious to watch and well thought. Ice pixel art style as well, and the music really kicks with everything really well. Awesome work!

Feel free to hop into my game as well and share your thoughts and ratings if you have the time!

The humor of the boss and it's mechanics plus the fact that this game is technically a sequel makes this game a riot! Well made with great pixel art.

I wish the goat would scream after each skeleton stabber defeated. That being said though, I would be able to hear the scream only 3 times at max.

Played on stream! See the video for timestamp.

Thanks so much for trying it out on stream!

Very nice idea with decent implementation. The only complaint is that the gameplay is very simple, I would like something more from the fights themselves (adjusting the arena, leveling the boss, etc.), so far it is enough for 5-10 minutes of gameplay. If i understood correctly attacks only go through when the hero is on the ground, which is a bit frustrating, maybe it was worth expanding this window to the beginning and end of the jump. Overall good, but very small game.

Thanks for your feedback! As it is, my objective was only about 2 minutes of gameplay for this jam game, I agree it would need far more variety to last longer!

Theoretically, the hero will be damaged for the length of time the “fire” effect is visible, at first I had it deal damage if the hero hit the pole at any time, but that was far too difficult for the limited AI to dodge.

For now, I reached this point :D

It’s good to see how a boss acts and feels, with a always respawning hero. Truly a good idea, execution, presentation and interpretation of: “play something in a different way than normal”. I liked a lot the pumping music too!

Congratulations!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I expected most people to play to about this point, as there fundamentally isn’t much content here.

This is the first time I play as a boss, it's nice to see how the hero jumps right into the room and fight against it. I remember my childhood when I used to play Megaman and always wondered "what would the boss be doing right now while I'm struggling with the level?". Hahaha.

I liked it, of course, I understand the time constraints and the fact that the boss has very limited skills, but hopefully, we can see another version of this concept.

BTW thanks for the interview!

This is really cool! It's really fun to play as the goat and it gives a new perspective to how annoying being a boss must be. My only bit of feedback is to maybe make it so you can buffer jumps so that you don't have your input ignored if you press the button too early. But overall a great game!

That's a great suggestion! Thank you : )
